Halloween groaned on the inside, he didn't let it escape to the outside where the three clan cats could hear him. He wondered for a moment how strong this clan actually was that not only a warrior, but the leader, were offering him a place to stay and the possibility to join the clan. Still, it was the leader who'd offered it this time, not just a warrior. Not that Raptoreyes was any less worthy of respect, but it meant more to Halloween coming from Jadenstar. Speaking of Raptoreyes.... he glanced over as she appeared and he nodded in agreement. Yeah he'd refused once already, and as of now he was tempted to refuse a second time.
But something the leader said made him think different. He didn't want to hunt anywhere else right now, Islandclan turf was one of his favorites and he spent most time here, heck he knew the lands pretty well despite not being a member of the clan. "Fine Jadenstar. I'll stick around." At this moment his belly grumbled a little bit and he immediatly looked a bit alarmed. Oh of all the times his belly had to rumble right now. "I'll stay cause I like the hunting here. Just as I'll need to prove myself to the clan, your clan will need to prove itself to me. There's no reason for me to stick around with a weak clan.... not that Islandclan is weak per say." He had started to ramble a bit, still slightly embarassed over his rumbling belly.

Ringpaw twirled his tail in embarrassment at his mentor's praise. He flicked an ear in surprise as Halloween agreed to stay. "Does that mean we can welcome him now?" Without waiting for an answer from mentor or leader, the gray-brown spotted tabby apprentice bounced up to the calico loner and touched his pink nose to the older tom's. "Welcome to IslandClan!" He mewed cheerily. "If you need any help getting around, let me know -- although it probably won't be necessarily, seeing as you've been hanging around for so long."

The jet leader would have raised her eyebrows were she human. Her spine fur bristled a little. Normally she didn't lose her temper; she was a gentle cat. But she could not keep the hiss out of her voice. "If you assume we are weak, then fine. If you are only staying so that you can take and not give anything in return, then you must leave." I was hoping he'd be like Midnight... She was angry at herself for letting herself seem weak. He was taking food! He knows our territory like we do! She bared her teeth, taking a step forward threateningly. She twitched her ears to signal Raptoreyes and Ringpaw to stand at attention.

Ringpaw took a step back quickly, twitching his whiskers awkwardly. "If he knows the territory, wouldn't he be a threat if the other Clans came across him?" He was murmuring half to himself, half to Raptoreyes.

The coon-tailed apprentice shrank back slightly at his mentor's anger. "I was just thinking," he mumbled, "OceanClan especially could end up using him to their advantage if they ever found him, supposing we DO drive him out -- considering the Big Claw Island predicament." He scuffled a paw in the dirt.

Ringpaw flinched and shrank back farther, but said nothing. His ears twisted backwards toward his skull and he looked up at his leader, then shifted his gaze to Halloween.

Jadestar chuckled at Raptoreyes' fierce words, yet they were not meant to be offensive. She narrowed her jade eyes in thought for a moment, then decided what the answer would be. "He may stay with us. However, since you and he are so similar, you will be the one to show him around." She turned to Halloween. "I never caught your name, did I?" She flicked her tail amusedly.

A rare smile appeared on Halloween's face as Ringpaw's nose and his own touched. However he quickly stole it away. He suddenly got a bit defensive as Jadenstar spoke. "I didn't mean to say your clan is weak, I don't know enough about it to assume such things. I know the land, not the cats inside it." He feared he might have ruined his chances of being accepted then and there, not that he would have been totally hurt by that. He still wasn't sure about the whole thing honestly. Especially when Ringpaw mentioned Oceanclan and Big Claw Island. He'd seen the island, never been on it thought. However it seemed a bit deal to these cats.
He noted not to get on Raptoreyes' bad side, or anymore on it then he already was for his previous actions. The mostly white tom shifted his gaze towards Jadenstar. "The only name I've ever had is Halloween." He wouldn't ever admit where it came from. He knew enough about the clans from his life in the forest to know that some would frown upon him keeping the kittypet name the two little two-legs had given him in the few moments he knew them before they crashed into the ditch and he escaped. He turned to Raptoreyes. "I'd be happy to let you show me around, provided you don't try and kill me in the end." He said jokingly, winking at her.

Ringpaw had no idea how to react to this. If he went either way, he risked his mentor's wrath. Volunteering to guide Halloween might make her think he was trying to get away; asking Raptoreyes to do it might make her think he was being lazy. He thought he'd try the latter of the two. "Er. . . you're more experienced with loners, so. . maybe you should be his guide?"

Ringpaw respectfully dipped his head to Raptoreyes and Jadestar. He glanced at Halloween and said, "Come find me soon! There are some great places that only I know about!" He turned and bounded away with a playful flick of his coon-like tail.

Jadestar chuckled as the apprentice bounded away. She turned to Raptoreyes. "I see you have it handed," She meowed. "I shall return to camp for now. Good luck," She said, turning to Halloween, corners of her muzzle tugging into a smile. "You'll need it." She winked slyly and returned to camp.

He gave a nod to Ringpaw as the older apprentice vanished from sight. That left him with just the two female cats. His eyes ventured onto Jadenstar as she spoke. He gave a nod and sighed. "I think I can manage." He looked over at Raptoreyes out of the corner of his eye. "But I'm not one hundred percent sure...." He said jokingly as Jadenstar wandered off, that left him and his tour guide.
He stood up and faced Raptoreyes. "Well then Raptoreyes, lead the way." He flicked his tail, eyes watching her with little emotion in them.

Halloween followed close behind Raptoreyes, he got caught up a few times when he didn't quite remember what was coming up. He might have known the land, but no way could he know it as skillfully as a full blooded warrior of the clan. His head was near her tail tip as they leapt over the deep incline. He seemed to have a bit of a memory lapse, or maybe he'd never been in this part of the territory too often, but he slid a bit down the pebbles, marking up his bottom. "Owww..." He yowled as he stopped sliding, standing up and shaking his sore bottom. "Forgot that was there..." He grumbled and then turned to look at Raptoreyes.

"I'm not your apprentice." He pointed out to her after she finished her first statement. He didn't sound angry at all, but he was jsut kindly reminding her. He didn't want to be treated as an apprentice, he was much to old for that sort of nonsense xD. His eyes followed around the landscape as she pointed things out to him, and he nodded. He'd seen most of it, but didn't know that any of it had names.
His ears perked up as she mentioned swimming. "Er... no questions." He didn't like water much, but he wasn't afraid of it either- he'd deal with getting wet for now. Afterall, if he was gonna live in IslandClan he's have to deal with a lot more water then ever before.

His ears leaned back a bit, but he kept his yap shut. He didn't feel like starting an arguement with her, not today anyways. Maybe later once he's been officially accepted into the clan he'd strike up a good arguement with Raptoreyes, but for now he just submitted and gave up the arguement. He followed her into the waves, copying her actions so that he road into the beach on waves as well. It was a totally new experience to him, and as he stubbled onto solid land. His fur clung close to him and made him look incredibly skinny. He glanced over at her. He couldn't think of something to say, so he just stood there.
