Jadestar walked sternly over to where everyone was sitting. "Who is this? I don't recognise him." She gave Midnight a suspicious sniff.

At first when Fogkit heard his leader's voice he shook with fear, but his excitement let him overcome it. "This is Midnight!" Fogkit exclaimed with a happy mew, "He is a loner!"

Leafsong padded over to where Jadestar was."Jadestar,this is Midnight,he wants to speak with you," she meowed,dipping her head respectfully.

Midnight bowed his head to Jadestar. "I'm a loner. You might have surmised that," Midnight good-naturedly glanced at Fogkit, "But I'm not a rogue. I travel a lot, and... I'm really tired. My question is, may I stay with your clan for a while?" The good-natured tom sat alert, awaiting her answer and just a tad nervous.

A grey stained She-cat entered the clearing. She was just as surprised to see a loner standing there as Jadestar was. Shadeheart shrugged it off and continued down toward her leader. She gave a slight nod to them and stood next to the angry and confused Jadestar. Shadeheart's eyes flicked to the little kits who seemed angry, especially Nightkit.
Who was this kit to challange a adult cat? Granted the Adult cat was a loner but still. The little thing had spunk, maybe some he could do without. Shadeheart merely shifted her paws uneasily. A sudden wind carried through her coat and she shivered for a slight second then regained her composure. |

Jadestar looked slightly uncertain for a moment, slight confusion in her eyes, then they cleared.
She gave a short nod. "You may stay with us, Midnight. But only if you can hunt for the Clan, get along with the Clan, and fight for the Clan as if you were part of us. There is no room for lazy cats in Islandclan."

Nearby, Tigereye was quietly screening the camp with a focused gaze. His ears were perked forward, picking up sounds of conversation. Jadestar was speaking with some of the Clan cats. The Deputy wasn't certain what about, but he was sure he'd find out soon enough. [/size] |

Dawstorm snorted, she didn't approve of Midnight staying even if Jadestar said he could. "Hush Nightkit!" She put the tip of her tail on front of Nightkit's mouth when he spoke up rudely.
Marblekit wagged her tail happily when Jadestar let him stay. "Could we hear some stories?" She meowed excitedly at Midnight. Her yellow eyes darting from her mother, to Midnight, wondering if Dawnstorm would aprove. [/size] |

"Yes, let's hear some stories!"Fogkit mewed excitably. He never really heard any good stories, and unlike most of the time he was comfortable around the loner. Though he would wish that Nightkit would shut his mouth.

Nodding graciously to Jadestar, the cat-grinned. "Alright, get comfy for this one. It's about my stay in the cold, harsh mountains," The jet tom paused for effect. "I was traveling through the mountains, wandering as I usually do. I scented something nearby, something that piqued my curiosity and intensed my urge to find out what it was. It smelled huge, and not just boulder huge. This thing seemed a hundred times my size just by scent alone! I shuddered, and not just with the cold. I heard a low rumble from somewhere behind me... I felt humid and hot breath, seeming to singe the fur right off of my shoulders- it was right there! Inches from me, it roared with all the intesity of one of LeopardClan! It was! It was huge!!!!" His fur stood on end, his eyes huge. This is my best one, he thought. "I was frozen in my tracks, but I struggled and ran anyways. The thing roared and charged after me! I ran into a cave, but it was the worst of luck! It was the creature's den! Its kit was as huge as me, and it was sitting right there. Its mother grabbed it by the scruff and had me cornered... I decieved it and darted the other way. Its huge paws trembled the earth like thunder as they scooped up huge clouds of snow. I thought I was nearly out of trouble but... A cliff!!! I skidded to a halt just before the dropoff edge. I couldn't stop the Leopard, and with its kid, it tried to slide to a halt. I pushed me over the edge, and plummeted over itself!!! I thought I was surely crowfood, but just then I had grabbed onto the edge of the cliff, and sunk my claws into ice. Scrabbling for a pawhold, I got myself back up. But the Leopard had flung over the edge like a huge stone." He ended the story there. This was a great one, he thought.

Shadeheart merely flicked her tail at his story. The kits mey be decieved but of courses, that was a kits tale. Shadeheart was never a fan of stories, even as a kit. She perfered to go and live them herself so when she heard another story she could blurt in their faces she had done so also.
Shadeheart had never faced a leaperd before though, and she doubted Midnight had. No cat is really ever that lucky to face a leaperd and live, except for. Shadeheart shook the thought from her head and began to groom her paws as she had spotted a fleck of brown on them. Shadeheart was kinda obsessed with the white part of her coat and she wasnt about to let some foolish kitten story distract her from her biggest peve. |

Fogkit listened to the story with glee. It was rare for him to listen to a good story and he was filled with pleasure. "What happen to the kit? Did it try to attack you as well?" he asked.

Shadeheart shifted her paws unhappily. Shadeheart didnt like how the kits were buying into the story but she wasny about to call him out as a lier. Shadeheart did want to say something though, so she turned to Jadestar. "So, did Oceanclan take over the Big Claw Island? If so, even if not, we should show them whose boss and send a partol over there to remind them." Shadeheart wasnt about to stand by as one of their main sources of, well, everything. |
