Nightkit,who was watching,meowed to Dawnstorm,"He's not in our clan!" pointing one paw at Midnight rudely.
Leafsong walked over,and holding the piece of moss carefully,pressed it lightly on Midnight's hind leg until a tick fell out.

[Dragon]

"I don't see any harm in him," Fogkit said. "He looks wise." He stared at the loner with a keen interest as Leafsong gave him the mousebile.

[Bluestar]

"Harm?Of course you can't see any!" Nightkit taunted.

[Kato.Dragon]

Dawnstorm sighed as the kits started fighting again."Fogkit, Im sure you'll be a great warrior, you don't have to listen to what the others say, just listen to what's important." She would have told Marblekit that it wasn't nice to poke fun ot her brothers when the loner walked in. Being a mother, Dawnstorm growled quietly at Midnight and stepped in front of her kits. Her golden eyes watching his every move. "Yes, he's not, but Leafsong has the right to help any cat in need."

Marblekit started at the stranger with big wide eyes. It was a loner! She had never seen one before. If her mother wasn't blocking them from him, she would have walked up to him, but Marblekit didn't want to anger her mother.

_{Midnight dipped his head respectfully to both adults. "Thank you," Midnight said to the medicine cat. To the kits, he grinned. "I once knew a kit like you," He said cheerfully. "She's a loner, now, too as far as I know." He missed the golden tabby kit, his best friend's daughter. "Loners will eat you alive!" Midnight teased, sanding up and mock-hissing. Sitting back down, he said seriously, "You can see harm. You can see which cats are mean. They seem kinda like... FOXES!" He jumped to scare the kits and laughed. He turned to their mother. "I'm sorry if I'm bothering you. I miss having kits around. Oh, how rude of me, I forgot to tell you my name. It's Midnight."}

[Bluestar]

Leafsong quickly meowed to Midnight "I think you'd better leave now.Jadestar might come back anytime,and I don't think it's a good idea for you to stay here long."

Midnight sighed. "I had hoped you wouldn't say that. Well, where is Jadestar?" I wonder if I could ask her if I could stay until I am rested. These kits remind me so much of Goldkit... He sighed inwardly and wrapped his tail around his paws.

[Dragon]

Fogkit only put his head down again and shifted his paws. He jumped up when Midnight said that he was like a fox and there was a wary in his eyes.

"I'm not afraid of no fox," he said sternly.

[Bluestar]

"You are!" Nightkit meowed.

"I think Jadestar will be back soon," Leafsong replied.

[Dragon]

"I'm no fool at least," Fogkit said. He looked at Leafsong. "What will Jadestar do to him?" he asked glancing at Midnight.

[Bluestar]

"I'm not sure." Leafsong replied.

_{Midnight sighed and layed down, putting his head on his paws. "To tell you the truth, I hope she lets me stay for a little while," He meowed both carefully and hopefully. He didn't want to anger the locals, nor make the impression that he wanted to stay for a very long time. If any cat knew him, they would know that oftentimes when a clan graciously sheltered him, often he would leave suddenly, with a couple of gifts in his stead such as fresh-kill or rare herbs. He would make a very good medicine cat, if not for his wanderlust. At least I know how to take care of myself, he thought cheerfully.}

"Well I hope you can stay," said Fogkit, "I bet you have lots of stories to share!"

[Bluestar]

Nightkit said rudely "Stories?I don't think he can even tell a single story!"

Leafsong glared at Nightkit,and then turned to Midnight "I hope you can stay too.But that's for Jadestar to decide."
