Me, mischevious?

Stormpaw pranced through the forest. The tall trees towered over him, their branches swaying with the wind. It was as if they were beckoning the apprentice to come climb them... but not right now. The young tom had something else on his mind for once. Scampering up trees was what he usually did when he took off from camp. However, Stormpaw had recently got in trouble for taking off from his mentor's watch. Taintedstar had finally cracked down on him and spoke to him about misbehaving. She hadn't raged about it, though. She seemed to only give him half a lecture. The grey apprentice figured the Leader was just too busy to really care about his behaviour... busy with things like the Island business he didn't understand completely.

Stormpaw suddenly pounced a bug, his mind momentarily forgetting his purpose out here. He lifted up his forepaws only to find the bug had escaped already. Dissapointed, he rose to all four paws and looked around with his curious blue eyes.

"I'm distracted too easily." He sighed, speaking aloud to himself, then he moved forward through some bushes.

Stormpaw was on a mission right now... a little mission he made for himself. After Taintedstar had spoke with him about running off, Ashtail had been very dissapointed with him. He was constantly taking off from his mentor's watch, and he imagined she was fed up with it. She just didn't show it. So, to try and make up for it, Stormpaw was going to find Ashtail some flowers... it might not make her happy like he hoped, but he was going to try at least! He just needed to find some flowers, but they were rare to find in leaf-bare...

As he came out from the bushes, he realized he was at the border of OceanClan territory. From here, Stormpaw could smell IslandClan scent markings. He shriveled his nose at the somewhat familiar stench. He hadn't realized how far he had come! Stormpaw was about to turn back to the forest and search more when he noticed a small cluster of beautiful flowers - in IslandClan's territory.

Stormpaw's blue eyes sparkled as the thought of crossing the border went through his mind. Should he dare? He peered around cautiously. There were no signs of Island patrols... but was it worth the risk...? Stormpaw sat and pondered...

Wetpaw padded to Stormpaw."Hi Stormpaw," he meowed,when suddenly he smelt IslandClan scent markings."

Stormpaw had been deep in thought, his tail flicking back and forth as if he were ready to play.

I can't just walk across the border... they'll smell me... so I could jump in some water and get my fur scentless and...

Stormpaw looked to see Wetpaw. He smiled, eyes bright with friendliness. "Hey Wetpaw!"

A dark shape crouched in the shadows, still except for the gleam of two deep green eyes that flashed like emeralds. The deep brown tabby tom knew he was invisible, a master of evasion. He set his eyes on the two young cats just foxlengths in front of him, completely unaware of the lurking danger. The dark tom, called Thorn, finally stirred, creeping slowly and silently through the bushes. He moved to a new vantage point, where he could see the apprentices even better. Thorn bared his ivory fangs in a grin to himself. They had no idea.

Suddenly, a muscular silver tabby she-cat arrived, her green eyes sparkling and her pelt sparkled with dew((WHEE, SPARKLES!!!)). She had gone out alone on Taintedstar's order to check the scent marking. With the dispute over Big Claw Island, they couldn't afford to miss anything. A smell reached her nose...Something....disgusting....like rotting meat. Silverstripe squinted her eyes and turned her head away as though she had just been hit by a blow. The scent came from ahead of her, and because she was downwind, she couldn't be scented. IslandClan? thought Silverstripe. No....they do not smell so horrible...It's worse than crowfood! It must be.... Silverstripe raised her head, her eyes narrowed. Then, two new scents reached her nose.....Two ...OceanClan apprentices....Wetpaw....And Stormpaw! Silverstripe's eyes widened in fear as she had a sudden vision of a DarkClan cat crouching over the two terrified apprentices, who were begging to get away....Silverstripe gasped and unsheathed her claws. No time to get others....I have to save them! StarClan, lend me your strength! thought Silverstripe, slithering silently foward.

Thorn pricked his ears as he saw another cat arrive, a female, looking angry. Gritting his teeth in frustration, he moved backwards, melting into the shadow. He knew the apprentices would be nothing, but he would have to worry about her. (( Gots to go. Sleeeeepy. . . ))

"Wetpaw! Stormpaw!" said Silverstripe, looking around for the troublesome apprentices. She called their names again, though more quietly, changing her pace of slithering to quiet walking.

[Sable]

Thorn crept to the side, in the opposite direction of the she-cat. Soon, he was directly behind her, with the wind blowing towards him and washing away his scent. He crouched lower until he was almost flat, carefully watching the three cats before him.

Arrowfeather gave a very small gasp as the DarkClan scent washed away. But....even if he left, there would still be a faint trace of his scent, right? she said. "Wetpaw, Stormpaw....go back to the camp. Tell Taintedstar that I will be there shortly," she said, narrowing her eyes.

Thorn twitched an ear as the she-cat spoke. He supposed things would be easier if the apprentices left. . She seemed to be doing him a favor! He smirked as she glanced around, unaware that he was now just pawsteps behind her.

Silverstripe kept her eyes narrowed, think fiercly as many thought swirled in her head. I have to protect.....The apprentices.....supposed to be out here?.....And Taintedstar....But the clan......

Thorn lay quietly, head resting gently on his paws. This could take a while, He thought, as the she-cat continued to act totally clueless. Sighing slightly, he took a step forward, purposely making the frozen leaves under his paws give a loud crackle.

Silverstripe stopped. She knew exactly what he was doing. But she would not give unpurposful fighting. "Leave," she said clearly, looking at the ground. "Leave now!"
