Arrowfeather rolled over so she was on top and pinned him done. "Ok, good. Now try something that isn't obvious," she said, smiling.

Duskpaw started to slide out from under her, but then remembered something that might work better. Shifting so his center of gravity was low and they were back-to-back, he shoved upward as hard as he could, shoving his mentor off, and pouncing on her before she could roll away. His center of gravity was still low. It'll be harder for me to get knocked down if my center's low, he thought.
For just a second, his mind went blank, and then a memory struck him like a cannon. Ivypaw! He remembered he had promised to meet the apprentice at Frog Lake, and backed up. "Thanks for the lesson, I remembered something important I had to do... Hope you won't ind... sorry!" Duskpaw turned and dashed into the undergrowth.
