Shiningheart circled Blizzardshard, her neck fur fluffed up in irritation. "How could you be so stupid? You may be big enough to avoid being carried off by a hawk, but your weight could easily unbalance that outcropping of rocks, then you'd be dead!"
Blizzardshard flinched at her words, but his response was stead. "I wasn't going to fall. I know when to run."
Shiningheart whirled around and glared icily into his eyes. If he didn't know her better, he'd think she was about to hit him. "Not. My. Point." She growled. "And since you said you'd been watching since the rabbit, WHY DIDN'T YOU HELP ME DRAG IT!?" The last part was a thin wail, completely ruining the deputy feeling of power. "That stupid thing was heavy! I could have easily been toppled and crushed!"

Seeing what was happening between Shiningheart and Blizzardshard, Glassheart quickly ran over and tried to appease the situation. "I'm sure Blizzardshard didn't mean to anger you." she meowed persuasively to Shiningheart, trying to calm the deputy down.

Blizzardshard flashed a crooked grin at both she-cats. "Actually," he meowed, whiskers twitching in amusement, "it was just funny watching her struggle."
Shiningheart's eye twitched before she took a deep breath. "Blizzardshard," she growled slowly, "I'M GOING TO KILL YOU YOU MOUSE-BRAIN!" And then she pounced on him. The only reason Blizzardshard purred in amusement was because he knew she would forgive him long before they reached the camp. And because her claws were sheathed. That would have much to do with it.

Glassheart relaxed as she realised that Shiningheart was not really angry with Blizzardshard. "How about we continue our hunt?" Glassheart suggested.

Shiningheart nodded and released Blizzardshard from the hold she'd had him in. "You're joining us." She meowed to the tom with narrowed eyes.
Blizzardshard rolled his own eyes and nodded. "But of course, mighty deputy." He meowed with a sarcastic bow. "I live to serve your every whim."

Glassheart smiled to herself as she watched Shiningheart and Blizzardshard. Blizzardshard seemed to like to annoy Shiningheart whenever he could.

Shiningheart rolled her eyes. But despite herself, a smile tugged at her muzzle. "Mouse-brain." She muttered fondly.

"Well, shall we continue our hunt now?" Glassheart meowed cheerfully. It would be good to have Blizzardshard coming along, as it would mean that there would be more prey for the clan.

Shiningheart nodded and looked at Blizzardshard. "Stay by the pile. Make sure no hawk or eagle gets to it." She ordered, turning her body to follow Glassheart. Then her tone got icey. "That shouldn't be too hard, since you protected Goldendance from that hawk last moon." Then she turned her back on him and bounded away.
Blizzardshard gaped openly as his best friend and love turned away from him. How did she know that? He never said anything to anyone about what happened! The only cats that did were him, Goldendance, and Jackelwind. And why was she so frosty about it? He was only protecting a Clanmate in danger! So then, why did he feel a trickle of guilt slide into his belly??

Glassheart paused for a moment, then started to pick up her pace until she was racing through the forest along with Shiningheart, with the wind blowing against her fur.
