Darkness surrounded the copse of trees in the dip of earth that formed the Shadow Hollow. Tree leaves rustled and shook in the shadows, shade coating most of them and creating a sinister air. In these dappled shadows, one moved and seperated itself from the darkness, its pelt jet-black. The coyote raised his narrow muzzle to the sky, which was dark and foreboding, clouds covering the stars. Angling his head towards the moon, that looked like a thin silver fang in the sky, he grinned darkly. It was time.
The pack had lay dormant for so long, doing nothing, but always Shaden had been restless. His black pelt blended him in with the nighttime shadows, so he was left with nothing to be seen by but his round, venomous golden eyes, and his sinister fangs. Lowering his head, he crouched and awaited the rest of the pack to gather, knowing full well that the jolt that had awoken him, the feeling that it was the pack's time to rise, would have also awoken the other coyotes. It is time...

Luna saw Shaden's eyes glitter from some unseen light. Silently, her white fur easily seen in the dark, she padded down into the hollow, following suit. Waiting.

((From all the wolf roleplays I have done, I call female canines faes and male canines brutes. Just so you know what I'm talking about.))
The jet-pelted brute watched the woods around him with wide, venomous yellow eyes. They seemed a liquid citrine, wary of any and all movement and sound. He swiveled his head, and his ears, when Luna silently awoke and sat, awaiting Shaden and the rest of the pack. The black-furred coyote grinned, his maw stretching into a wide, sawtoothed grin. Now it began, and once the rest of the pack gathered, they could be off and away, sinking their teeth into the prey...

((Ok, I have a question though. Will we be able to speak or will it be like in the books where it's more like just howls and growls?))
Coldfire watched the others as he lay silently off to the side, his eyes narrowed in deep thought as he remained still. He could tell that the others were more than ready to go, a night's hunting was something they all needed, for revival and for recreation. He smiled at the thought of his prey fleeing from him, the sound of their weak pitiful bones crushing beneath his power paw, and the tasted other their blood as he snapped through them. Yes, he too was ready for the fun that would lay before them tonight.

((We will be able to speak, but it will be canine, so the cats won't be able to understand the coyotes.))

A pair of illuminating orange eyes shone vibrantly through the thick black webs night had seem to weave. He looked over his pack of devoted coyotes, watching each make their moves that were almost expected. It was time, it was time to rid their coats of the boredom which had lied over them like blankets, it was their time for fun. It was time for a little late night rampage.
Atreyu’s muzzle shot skyward, releasing a blood-chilling howl that sent quivers down even his own spine. His dark coat blended well with the night backdrop, though the occasional silver strands making him noticeable. Atreyu’s body was larger then the others considerably, his blood tainted with wolves creating a half-breed.
If he hadn’t had grown so big, so vile, he would have been casted out. But their fear for him made Atreyu their leader. And so far, he hadn’t lead them wrong. In fact, you could almost call him compassionate. Atreyu was significantly less cruel then his father, though that didn’t make him less evil, not by any means.

Shaden grinned a canine grin. This was the night that the coyotes would be free, free from the hollow. Not that it was truly a prison, but he knew of the outside, the place where cats were. He had been before, with his sister, and lived near them. He was almost... disgusted with himself for ever allowing himself to live there.
But now, he could sink his teeth into the cat flesh and no one could or would stop him. Now was the time for the coyotes to reign. Hearing Atreyu's call, Shaden stepped forwards, willing to follow leadership... for now. At least he would be led to the place where the cats were. And he would feast, and the new territory would be theirs.
"It begins, then," Shaden growled in his husky voice. He knew he had voiced what all the other coyotes had been thinking.

Coldfire rose silently and swiftly, he was ready to move, his muscles tensing with pleasure. Tonight his belly would be full and blood would soak his muzzle, every sense pleased to its fullest as the time arose. His legs seemed to glow like fire as the fur grew red from coal black paws, as he walked over to his leader, content to follow another for the time being.
"I agree." He chuckled to Shaden as he flashed sharp white teeth with an evil grin. "It's time to shake this weariness from our bones."

bic| Atreyu’s pale skin beneath his dark coat gave a slight shiver, the excitement and the cold combined getting to him. The dead of winter. How the word choice would describe the next few days. His blazing orange eyes scanned over his assembled wolves, planning in his mind which words should be spoken at a time like this. Only a few came to mind, and they might lead them to an uncontrollable killing spree, and that was not something he desired. Losing control of his pack would end up probably killing him, no, he needed them to be reasonably calm.
“Coyotes!” He called to them, drawing their attention upward as he stood on higher ground then they. “Tonight, we will have awaken our true potential. We shall annihilate our intrusive neighbors. They shall fall victim to our teeth.” With that, he bared his pointed canines intimidating, emphasizing his point as well as simultaneously making sure they all realized he was in charge.
“I for one have grown tired of those soft kittypets. We want a trained warrior! They have the sweetest meat and as well all know, the tastiest.” Atreyu longed to lick his lips but feared he would come off as deranged, well, more then normal.

Serval had left the group heading back to came, wanting to roam Darkclan territory again, but wandering to far again. She paused as she reached a thick copse of brambles, her ears erect as she heard growls and snarls, but words gradually formed in her ears. " “I for one have grown tired of those soft kittypets. We want a trained warrior! They have the sweetest meat and as well all know, the tastiest.” " Her eyes widened as she began to back up, but stopped, knowing that she could lead them right back to the clan if she ran back. "I need to stay still and silent for now." She told herself silently as she tried to figure out how she had even understood the words that had come out of the coyote's mouth. 'The dogs...' She realized as she remembered when they were walking home from the camp they had been born in to the original DarkClan camp. She had paid more attention to the dogs, gradually understanding the barks and growls, forming words and trying to speak them back. 'But there 'voices' are so much rougher, why do I understand them better?' She thought worriedly.
