Lunar padded slowly though the grass as it tickled her paws. Her whole body ached as she took each step forward. The ride down the falls and river may have been short, but were causing great pain on her body. She also knew that she had entered another cat's territory for she had smelled their scent markers. She approached the large mass of rock and groaned quietly.
"I'll never find anyone in time who can help me." she cried softly. Her fur was still damp and pressed against her body made her look even smaller. She laid down for a moments rest as the smell of prey filled her with some courage. She got up and began to walk up the mountain, while listening to the quiet scufflings of prey in the cracks of the mountain. She jumped slowly, but still gracefully from ledge to ledge. A small vole came scurrying out of one of the cracks, but Lunar had already heard it and killed it in a single bite. She looked at the prey hungrily, but refrained from eating it. She looked at the again prey, picked it up and began to carry it. She knew better than to eat prey from another's territory. 'I might be able to give this to someone who can help me.' she thought softly.

Wildheart darted through the back alleyways and switchbacks of the rocky mountain, his slender, sure paws guiding him every step of the way. The pads of his pale golden paws made no sound, and the leopard-like pelt rippled lithely as strong muscles worked in accord. Giving a final leap, he landed on a narrow ledge and paused, ears twitching. He could have sworn he heard a voice, a cry for help. Curious, Wildheart opened his mouth and inhaled the scent. He quickly sensed a she-cat, lost and hungry. Leaning carefully out from his perch, he saw a slim, blue-gray coat moving along. She was carrying a vole, but did not stop to eat. She continued to walk, seeming confused. Wildheart lay down and kept watching. It could be interesting.

Lunar stopped and sat down for a second. She inhaled some air and caught a whiff of another cat. She smelled the Tom's scent and tensed immediately. She didn't turn to look around, but used her ears to listen for any breathing or the slightest movement. She heard faint breathing coming from above her and slowly error 404ed her head in that direction.
"Who are you?" she called out. She hoped this cat could help her, as she waited silently and patiently for a reply.

"Well, it seems I have been discovered!" Wildheart returned the call cheerfully. In one fluid motion he stood up, pranced a few steps to his left, and sprang down to land a few pawsteps away from the strange, shivering she-cat. He twitched his whiskers and there was a friendly expression on his face. "So then, pretty miss, what can I do for you?" Wildheart leaned forward slightly on his toes, a mildly curious look in his pale blue-green eyes.

She stopped tensing and looked at the cat with wide, curious eyes. She laid the vole down at his feet and gave a small grin. "Do you live here?" she felt a little stupid for asking this, knowing he probably did. "I'm sorry for hunting in your territory. Do you know anyone who could give me some herbs, to at least ease some of the pain I'm in?" she asked quietly lowering her head. ‘I feel so small when I look at this cat. He looks friendly though, but I should know better than to look at someone by first impressions.’ she thought silently. Her tail flicked around uneasily as she looked down, and she kept messing with her paws in a nervous matter.

Wildheart cocked his head, eyeing her damp fur and small stature. "Took a tumble down the falls, eh kitty? Everybody in this region seems to have done it one time or another. As for herbs. . . " He trailed off, looking thoughtful. "Well, how do you feel? Achy, or stiff? Don't worry kitty, we can patch you up." His turquoise eyes traveled to the body of the small vole. Picking it up, he neatly tore the little furry creature in half, presenting one part to the stranger and gesturing for her to eat.

"Yeah, but I definately don't want to relive that again, but to answer your other question my joints ache like crazy right now." she replied looking into his eyes. She looked at the prey he had offered her and looked back at him thankfully. "Thank you, but will you please stop calling me kitty? I may be born a kittypet, but that doesnt mean I enjoy it one bit." she told him in a teasing matter. "Also if you don't mind telling me, what is your name?" She took a small bite out of the prey and looked back up at him.

Wildheart grinned. "Fine. I'm Wildheart. And if you want me to stop calling you kitty, give me something else to call you." He paused, then continued. 'I'm no medicine cat, but I think that daisy leaves will help with the aches. Wait here, I'll go get some." He turned and bounded up the steep rocks until he reached a place where he could pluck a few white-petaled flowers out of a crevice. He returned and delicately plucked off the leaves, laying them down carefully. "Eat those -- they should help."

"Thank you." she replied. She took the leaves and began to chew and swallow them. "My name's Lunar, and with a name like yours you must be a clan cat." she said with soft eyes. She ate the last leaf and looked up at him with gratitude. "Are you a warrior?" the words tumbled out of her mouth like water over Bluefall.

Wildheart looked at Lunar in surprise. "Why would a kittypet like you know about the Clan cats? And yes, I am a warrior." At this there was a small glimmer of pride in his eyes. Then he laughed. "You must be without a doubt the oddest kittypet I've ever come across." He said this teasingly, but not unkindly.

"My father told me some of the basics about clan life. He was a loner before he became a kittypet, for he loved my mother that much to become one. He would tell me and my brother about some aspects of clan life, but he came from somewhere much farther than here so some of the traditions might be off. He told us about the loyalty and bravery warriors showed and how an apprentice had a mentor to teach them how to follow the warrior code. I know little of medicine cats and starclan which interest me most of all." she told him calmly and happily because so few ever wanted to listen. "I am odd for a kittypet you're right about that, but trust me there are much odder cats than me." she teased back.

Wildheart raised an eyebrow in surprise. "Your father seemed to know quite a bit about Clan life. Ah, well. . ." He stood up, and flicked Lunar's cheek with his tail. "Come on. We should get Brighteyes -- she's our medicine cat -- to look you over. Those daisy leaves might not be enough." He slithered up the slope, then turned to wait for Lunar to catch up.

She smiled as she watched him began to go up the slope. "Yeah, he did know alot," she looked down for a moment,"I'm coming." she said as she looked back up at Wildheart. She slowly paced up the slope walking ahead of him in a teasing fashion, then slowed to let him show the way. "How long has Brighteyes been your medicine cat?" she asked curiously.

Wildheart shrugged. "Long enough. Don't worry," he added teasingly, "she won't kill you." He gave a large leap up to a ledge, carefully stepping over a treacherous gravelly patch.

She smirked at his comment, but kept in pace with him and lept over to the ledge as well. "I don't question her capability."she teased back. "How far are we from your camp though?" she asked with her eyes fixed on the path ahead.
