The Beginnings of Coonstar
It was the middle of the day in France, the streets were very busy and full of the humans' monsters. Toulouse padded across the stone street to were his humans lived. There wasn't much of a lawn, since he and his humans lived in the city, there wasn't any room to have a big one. Toulouse jumped up on the deck, and overlooked the noisy street. He had many friends here and tried to visit them whenever he could, but the street always made that difficult, there was hardly enough time to go between the monsters as they passed.
Sitting down, Toulouse wrapped his tail around his paws. He could see one of his friends through a fence next door, the she-cat was scratching at a part of the fence. Toulouse and the other cat had made a part of the fence open so they could pass through whenever they wanted. The she-cat passed under the fence and walked over to Toulouse. "Hello stranger." He called. The she-cat giggled at him. "Whatever you say Toulouse." She quickly made her way onto the deck to sit beside him.
"Good to see you again, Toulouse." She pawed his face lightly, in a friendly manner. Toulouse laughed. "You came over yesterday to see me Sandy, or have you forgotten already?" Sandy choked a laugh, "No silly! Am I not allowed to visit my baby brother?" Toulouse couldn't help but smile, they always acted like this. He licked Sandy's ear. "I like your visits, your the only family I have left..."
Their friendly chatter was sadly interrupted by a door opening. Its was his humans. Toulouse heard them say something, most likely to him. His human petted Sandy before they picked up Toulouse to take him inside. Watching his sister walk back over to her side of the fence, Toulouse purred. He could have never asked for a better sister than Sandy.
For some reason, Toulouse wasn't allowed outside. It had been a few days since he had spoken to his sister, and his humans were causing a lot of noise and they were always moving. Sometimes he had to move quickly out of the way of them, or else some kind of big box almost crushed him. Most of the time, Toulouse had to sleep behind the place where his humans sat at or else he could have gotten stepped on.
Toulouse sat on the window sill of his home, and looked outside. He could see his sister on their lawn, and all he could do was tap at the glass with his paws, because meowing would only make his humans annoyed. He wanted so badly to speak with Sandy, but he had no way outside. He curled up on the window sill, and watch his humans put things in very large boxes. He wondered what they were doing.
Another few days went by, and Toulouse watched as almost everything that was in the home, disappear inside boxes and crates. He was very curious as to what they were doing, that is until they brought over a cage to him. He stood up and his hairs stood on end. He hated that cage, so much. The last time he was put in one of those was when he was a kitten and he had gotten hurt badly. But his humans ignored him, grabbed his collar and shoved him in. Toulouse protested by hissing and scratching at the cage, they continued to ignore him
