Blizzardshard shrugged. "Doesn't really matter to me how much you heard." He meowed, lying through his teeth. "But hey, while you're here, could I ask you to do me a favor?" He went ahead without waiting for Jackelwind's answer. "Goldendance here," he flicked his companion's side with his tail, "tried to fight a hawk and got herself injured. You would run ahead to camp and warn *insert name of medicine cat* to prepare some herbs for her wounds?" He looked at Goldendance's side with a critical eye.
((Think we should wait for Goldie?))

ooc; Probably. But I'll respond anyways. ^_^
bic; Jackalwind nodded. "Sure thing, I'd be glad," Jackalwind mewed before running off into the bushes. All right, so now I'm off to the medicine cat. Who is our medicine cat?!

Goldendance nodded slowly. "It's definitely a dilemma, but if she's really your friend, she should be able to accept it without freaking out on you." Well, at least I don't sound like a trapped mouse, I can at least sound half-normal even if my heart's like that trapped mouse.
"Hello, Goldendance, Blizzardshard."
Her head jerked up. Wow, I got so immersed in this I didn't even notice him.
"Hello Jackalwind. What are you doing out here?"
I'll just not say anything... Goldendance felt a blush creep up her neck fur, even though it wasn't she who was debating love, but she understood and empathized with Blizzardshard's situation.
"I'm just hunting. I was passing by and was just hearing you two talking. Don't worry, I didn't hear much."
The golden she-cat nodded to him, flicking her tail.
"I'm sorry if I offended..."
Goldendance shifted her gaze back to Blizzardshard.
"Doesn't really matter to me how much you heard. But hey, while you're here, could I ask you to do me a favor? Goldendance here tried to fight a hawk and got herself injured. You would run ahead to camp and warn *insert name of medicine cat* to prepare some herbs for her wounds?"
The flush didn't retreat from her neck, instead deepening just a little. "Oi, I took that thing down," she said pridefully, flicking her tail at it. "And I didn't need your help." She sniffed, but regretted saying it a little bit.
"Sure thing, I'd be glad."
Goldendance nodded briefly, and turned back to Blizzardshard. "So..." she said, a little awkwardly.
((*SO* sorry for taking so long to reply to this. D:))

((No problem. Just try to be more active, please?))
Blizzardshard watched Jackalwind sprint off toward camp. He turned toward Goldendance, just as she said, "So,". His eyes showed a mixture of relief and worry. "You think he suspects anything?" He asked nervously.

Jackalwind padded through the forest and scented the air. Little wisps of freshkill scent were hanging in the air, but he ignored them. He was on a mission at the present, and he was determined to finish it.

She blinked slowly, registering completely what occurred with Jackalwind. "I'm not sure," she replied, frowning. "I think he heard at least some of what we were saying, but either he didn't understand what we were talking about or he was being courteous." She opened her mouth to taste the scents on the air, and Jackalwind had held true to his word, he was gone. Goldendance sighed a little.
"I remember what it's like to be so in love, that you could just get lost in their eyes without a mind for anything else." A memory returned of looking into Snowstorm's eyes, deep and long. Even when they were infiltrating DarkClan's lands, she remembered walking there beside him. Sighing, she continued, "Don't let that leave you. It's the best thing in the world."

Blizzardshard nodded, a soft smile on his face as an image from his apprenticeship with Shiningheart came to his mind's eye. Even back then, she was tiny next to him. But she was fierce in training. He remembered the way her eyes glittered dangerously as she circled him, looking for a week point during battle training. He remembered the way her eyes were bright with excitement when they were patrolling. He recalled the way her eyes darkened in concentration when either hunting or tracking. And best of all, he remembered the way her eyes grew frantic with concern when she saw any of her Clanmates hurt. "Don't worry." He growled, making a promise to both himself and Goldendance. "I won't."

"I remember the first day I came to the Clan. Snowstorm was the one who found me." She smiled to herself, losing herself in the memory of that cold, snowswept leaf-bare afternoon. It was after she'd lost track of her father, and she was wandering around the frozen wasteland completely on her own, at the end of her fifth moon. Goldendance reminisced on the way her whiskers tingled as the snowflakes swirled around her.
Where before they were simply beautiful, they had become a bitter reminder of the weather, and mother nature's tightly gripped control of it. Nature's cutting edge brought constant storms in which Goldendance was forced to hide out in caves and dug-out snowbanks, huddling in the cold. And then came the day she wandered close to the camp, and while Snowpaw had been out training, he stumbled upon the then-loner, padding around in the snow sniffing out some kind of food.
"I've never had a moment when I wasn't glad I'm a MountainClan warrior." She sighed contentedly. And I have everything I could ever wish for... besides you.

Blizzardshard shrugged, returning to padding back to camp. "I've always been a full-blooded MountainClan cat." He meowed to her. "So I can't really say I know how that feels. But I will never feel guilty about loving a half-Clan cat." He growled sharply, glaring ahead as thoughts of his mother ran through his head. "You know, my mother hated Shiningheart because of her Half-Clan origins." He mused to Goldendance, lost in his own memories.

Goldendance fixed her piercing golden eyes on Blizzardshard. "No one should be ashamed of their heritage," she said, twitching an ear. "Kittypet, half-clan, full-blood, whatever you are. We're all warriors, and we should be proud of what we are." She sat up a little taller.
"I know that a lot of discrimination goes on. But I've seen full-bloods who act more like kittypets than the kittypets themselves do." She let out a little chuckle. "Hell, if you're introducing a bit of new blood to the Clan's tree, good. If we didn't have a little difference here, well, I'm sure you could imagine what would happen." She shook her head.
"Back to the main subject, it wasn't exactly your mother's place to hate her... no offense," she added quickly.

Blizzardshard gripped the ground with his claws, a growl ripping from his throat. "Trust me, none taken." He meowed to her, eyes narrowed in rage at the past. "She practically disowned me because I refused to give up my friendship with Shiningheart." He shook his head quickly in wonderment. "I don't even know why she singled Shiningheart out!" He cried, looking at Goldendance in wonderment. "Venomwind is half-Clan as well. Why doesn't half the Clan hate her too?"

Squeezing her eyes shut, she breathed in and out for a few moments before replying. "Maybe it's because she saw something else between you two." Maybe that's something I'm not intended to get in between. Goldendance lifted her eyes to meet Blizzardshard's. "If you two were meant to be together, maybe she saw that. Or she has bad memories of half-Clans or something." The she-cat shrugged nonchalantly, hiding her thoughts.

Blizzardshard stayed quiet as the words sunk into his mind. In truth, his mother never told him much about her past, nor did his father. They could very well have had something about half-clans in their past. Then again, it could also have been because Shiningheart, then Shiningkit, had a rather...rambunctious attitude when it came to talking to the warriors. So he just shrugged. "Maybe, maybe not. They didn't tell me much about their pasts."
