Atreyu lurked in the shadows, his eyes a studying them. He was wary, staying behind the sight line, at least for the insolent cats. His black fur bristled; this pathetic ‘Starclan’ had sent them together to stop them? The half blood had no idea what Starclan was, but all he knew was that it was something to watch out for in the time being. The wind worked in his favor, blowing up to his face, signaling he was downwind. He longed to leap out and rip their throats, but doubted that would lead to too much fun. No, he wanted to play a game; one more fulfilling, one that was well deserved. The leader knew full well that Shaden had gone off and had killed the cat that lie dead close by. He could smell his scent coating the limp body. Ignorant canine, had he not planned out his kill? Had he no self control? Atreyu didn’t feel the urge to go tend to the wounded coyote, he was too busy planning. These cats were prepared, but there were too many of them. He could kill them, that was certain, but what damage would he undergo? Atreyu refused to seem wounded in front of his pack, giving them an opportunity that shouldn’t be there. No, he would head upward, to a place which would satisfy him. That jungle, it seemed as nice a place as any. With that last thought, his looming dark figure vanished into the woods behind him without a sound. No traces left behind, he was careful not to rub too much on the vegetation that had surrounded him. No, he would be sneakier then that. At least he had an upper hand, he could understand them. His past friend, Sampson, taught him to speak their language. He knew what they would do if he stayed longer, but time was of the essence.
Deathclaw sat there observently, not very much wanting to intrude on his fellow feline's dilemma. Yes, he was here so he shared the same hardships, but either way, it was not him destiny that was meant to be filled. The white Tom's left ear flicked apprehensively to the right, a noise had emitted, too small for any human ear to catch. His curiousity was driving him crazy, but the sound stopped so he assumed it couldn't have been more then an idiotic rabbit or such venturing too close and coming to a grime realization.

Mistpelt's head cocked ever so slightly to Deathclaw as his left ear flicked. Perhaps a rabbit? thought Mistpelt, shuffling her paws slightly. An ominous cloud lurked over them somehow, or that's at least what Mistpelt felt. Of course, StarClan had sent them there, but somehow Mistpelt felt alone.
"Well, we need to do something instead of sit here, wondering if we should choose our destiny or go back to our warm dens, leaving the Clans to perish!" yowled Mistpelt, her eyes flaring. Her stubborn, outgoing, and somewhat foolish spirit was emerging for now. "We we need to figure out is where to go!" she continued, searching her own mind for some clue.
Shaking her head, she padded over to Deathclaw. "Deathclaw..." she siad quietly. "I know I can't stop you from following me if you wish to do so...But OceanClan will surely be angry...." she said, looking at the tom.

Duskhaze recoiled from Phoenixpaw's sharp reaction. Understanding dawned a little on him when he remembered that they had met before they had come to the Clan. From what Ghostpaw had said while he was still alive, they hadn't known each other long. The dark gray warrior hadn't missed the way Ghostpaw sometimes looked at Phoenixpaw, but he never really thought much about it before. Sadness gripped him suddenly as he realized he would never again be able to watch the sometimes annoying apprentice at his antics, or hear him tell a joke, or share his ever-bright disposition with everyone around him.
The question jerked his mind back to reality. His nostrils flared again as he caught the scents of the other Clan cats around him, and he sighed. "StarClan has sent us all dreams that we should be here tonight, because there is imminent danger for the Clans." Of course Duskhaze didn't know that she didn't believe in StarClan, but he nodded satisfactorily at his sum of the current situation. Another thought crossed his mind that bothered him.
"Phoenixpaw," Duskhaze said, a little pain in his voice. "I keep disappearing. Even if it's for StarClan this time, she doesn't know..." He was referring to the she-cat that he kept leaving behind over and over again. A lump formed in his throat at the thought of the she-cat he loved most, whom he left behind when he and Shellpaw had left all of a sudden to pursue Demon. She had thought... that he didn't love her...
The pain was intense for a few seconds, but his amber eyes refocused on the russet medicine cat apprentice. "I need to ask you a favor." Glancing down at Ghostpaw, he understood that Phoenixpaw would want to mourn the apprentice. "I need you to tell her for me." Trusting that the medicine cat apprentice would know who he was talking about, he added, "After you finish mourning..."
With a flick of his ear, he heard the exclamation over the fox-scent. "Excuse me," he mewed politely to Phoenixpaw, and moved like a shadow to Moonpaw's side to inspect the matter of attention.
Moonpaw had been peering intently at the fox's shadow, flaring her nose for the scent. There was absolutely no doubt that it was the scent of a fox, but this didn't help with the direction they were supposed to go. Slightly frustrated that no one else was really helping her except Blackwish, she nodded to the IslandClan tom. "Yes, it's fox... I think StarClan wants us to find a fox, or escape from one, or something."
Grimacing in annoyance at the unclear meaning behind the message, Moonpaw didn't notice Duskhaze who moved like a ghost. "Perhaps you are right, and it is pointing our route." When the dark gray tom's deep mew was right next to her all of a sudden, she jumped, startled. Frowning at Duskhaze if ever a cat could frown, Moonpaw nodded, but froze. "Pointing...?" The tom looked slightly amused as he nodded, the corners of his muzzle turning up in a smirk.
Moonpaw allowed a slight hiss to escape her at his arrogance, but slowed down, trying not to act the same way. She was just an apprentice, what would she know about prophecies and the like, as opposed to the mysterious JungleClan cat standing there, looking like he just solved a puzzle without the others? Maybe he's not as outgoing as he needs to be... I could see why he wouldn't have many friends, if that's the case. Snorting with impatience, she looked to see that the muzzle of the fox was pointed in the direction of a path, just past the entrance to MountainClan territory, that led into rogue lands.
"I... are you sure?" Now that it was really time to go, Moonpaw felt a little bit unprepared for this. What if she wasn't ready for the responsibility of MountainClan's fate? The conviction in Duskhaze's nod was reassuring to say the least, but how could he be completely right? There was no way to know unless StarClan descended to tell the Clan cats themselves, and somehow, that didn't seem probable.
Duskhaze didn't reply otherwise, but moved faster than she would have thought to be possible to stand beside the new path, or maybe it was just her eyes. After all, it was dark, and he was a dark gray cat. Maybe she had just been seeing things. "Come on, we've found the way," Moonpaw called to the other cats, beginning to head in the direction of the path at which Duskhaze stood patiently.

Phoenixpaw's lip curled, both at Duskhaze's mention of StarClan and his inattention to Rainstorm, but she nodded anyway. "Don't worry," she assured him curtly. Turning, she sank her claws into the earth she had chosen for Ghostpaw's grave. It was stiff, but did not slow her. Soon she had torn up the dirt into a sizable hole and carefully placed the now cold body of Ghostpaw inside. It did not take long to cover him. Her face was blank once again, a stony wall separating her emotions. "Guess I'll see you later, then," she said to the other cats. As she left, she called over her shoulder, "I don't know what you're up to, but take care of each other. You're all you've got now."

Crestpaw nudged Blackwish and turned towards where Duskhaze was waiting. "I suppose you won't let me go alone, will you?" she said, looking up at the sky.

"I don't know what you're up to, but take care of each other. You're all you've got now."
The words that rang through the area caused Duskhaze's head to snap up sharply. The dark gray tom appraised Phoenixpaw for a few moments, his silent scrutiny a little intimidating. He didn't intend it to be that way, but as he saw her retreating russet form, he was thinking deeply. Somehow they were ominous, but he couldn't recognize how. Even if it had been put in front of him, he probably would not have even remotely considered the option that she did not mention StarClan, so that could not possibly be it.
His amber eyes turned to the ground, deeply engrossed in studying the soil beneath his paws. Whatever there was about the words, they didn't matter. Besides, nothing could happen to them under StarClan's eyes, right?
Staring at this reaction in the tom, the MountainClan apprentice shook her gray-and-white head wordlessly. Phoenixpaw had just been wishing them good luck. Why did Duskhaze take it any different? Moonpaw didn't really mind a lot, but she knew it was time to go soon, so she looked at the other cats impatiently.

"Can't let you have all the fun." Blackwish smiled as he motioned with his tail to start moving. He turned to talk to Duskhaze and Moonpaw, a question nagging him. "Where are we supposed to go?"

"Good question. We don't really know where this danger is and where we will find it, so how do we know where we are going?" she meowed, looking towards the path that they were heading towards.
