Snowpaw saw how the kit's self esteem sort of died of, and she cringed a little know that she had caused that. "I'm sorry for snapping at Reedkit, I guess I may be a little grumpy I suppose." She apologized and admitted to the kit. "You are on the right track though, Leafsong always keeps some fresh dry bedding n here." She told Reedkit proudly as she walked in behind him and began plucking some bedding out. "We can't leave the camp and get the best bedding, but this will tie the Jadestar and the Elders over until we can." She explained quickly as she directed Reedkit to grab some bedding.

Reedkit took some in his smallish jaw and trotted out, his spirits rising by the second. She hadn't meant to be mean, and he was just being sensitive.

Snowpaw rolled her eyes playfully as she watched that kit walk out of the den, his spirits rising. 'Well, at least I know now that my words can have some big affect on that kit.' She thought with a chuckle as she gathered up the bedding firmly in her jaws and trotted up after him.

Reedkit purred through his mouth full of moss. With Snowpaw, his best friend, by his side, nothing could go wrong. At least not for now. He mumbled to her, "To the elders, right?" He had forgotten where to go with the tedious moss.

"Yep, we'll do the elders first, then will go do Taintedstar's." Snowpaw grinned through her mouthful as she walked by Reedkit. 'He'll make a great apprentice.' Snowpaw thought happily as she playfully flicked her tail around his head then darted off towards the elders' den.

Reedkit's boredom came to an end when Snowpaw started a game. "I'll getcha! And what are we going to Taintedstar's for?" He mewed. Maybe I'll become an apprentice!! he thought eagerly.

"Even the leader of OceanClan needs new bedding every once in a while Reedkit, and this is just our way to help around camp." she explained proudly as she walked into the elders den, placing her moss outside for a moment so she could remove the old moss. "And it allows us to have fun in the process!" She grinned as she dropped some the dirty bedding over Reedkit like a sheet.

Reedkit shivered. The old bedding was all...well...old. Like the elders! He thought. No Reedkit. Respect your elders. You'll make Snowpaw proud. Oh, and Taintedstar too. He purred and started to take old bedding out also. He placed it in a neat pile and put in the new bedding, making it smell like a patch full of heather. He breathed in the wondrous scent.

"Good job, you'll be a great apprentice for any warrior to have." Snowpaw complimented him as she laid her tail on his shoulder momentarily, then ran off to change Taintedstar's bedding. She repeated the process of removing the dirty bedding, then took ina thick mouthful of clean bedding and padded it gently in the den.

Reedkit burst towards Taintedstar's den also. "Heyo, Taintedstar! Nice day we're having, eh??" He leaned over to Snowpaw. "Is Taintedstar even in here? I can't tell because I can't see." He whispered and stood up tall in case Taintedstar was there.

"I think she went off on patrol earlier today." Snowpaw shrugged as she moved out of the way so Reedkit could see. "She might be back later."

Reedkit nodded in understanding. "Okeydokes. Let's go! This den is creepy...yet beautiful in a way." He purred and came out of the den, blinking his eyes in the bright sunlight.

Snowpaw paused, understanding how Reedkit felt. "You're right, I have that feeling too. I think that's because you can kind of sense the presence of leaders before." She whispered kind of eerily as she stood still, her tail hanging low. Then she turned and left the den after Reedkit.

Snowpaw slunk up behind him, as she scrutinized the camp with sharp blue eyes. "I think your right. So, I guess we could play around until Deathclaw gets back." She grinned at the fact that she would have time to play with her friend, something that she would hang onto as long as possible.
