Reedkit woke up, stretching his sore back. "I can't believe it. 5 1/2 moons and I already have sore bones!" He stretched and they felt better. He went by the entrance, staring longingly at the sand around him. "I can't wait until my 6 moons of waiting are up. I want to become a warrior and show the world my talent!" He purred and turned around. He went over to the nursery, wondering where everycat could be. He didn't see any...and maybe none were here. He was always behind on the little things.

Snowpaw walked back into camp, her tail waving low, but with some pride. "Hey Reedkit!" She called out friendly to the kit as she playfully bounded over to him.

Reedkit purred. "Hi, Snowpaw! I thought I was the only cat left in this foresaken camp..." he chuckled. His amber ears twitched and he purred some more. "Wanna play mossball? We could play for prey!" He mewed excitedly.

Snowpaw eyes lit up at the idea, but she remembered her duty as an apprentice came first. "Let me go ask Blackbird if he needs me to do anything first, then I promise 'll come back and play, ok?" She told the young kit quickly as she turned and quickly ran over to Blackbird, the same happy grin on her face. "Do you need me to do anything Blackbird?"

Reedkit sighed. "All right. Well, I can wait since I won't be an apprentice for a while now..." He flopped on the ground, wishing he would hurry up and grow. "I wish I could become an apprentice too!" He mewed. Reedpaw had a nice ring to it. Then, he would be Reedtail. Or Reedwhisker. Or maybe even Reedclaw. He didn't know....1/2 a moon until he became an apprentice like Snowpaw!

Blackbird grunted as he looked down at Snowpaw. "The elders' den could use some fresh bedding," he growled. "And probably Jadestar's as well. Recruit Reedkit if you want. It'll keep him out of trouble for a while." He glared at the young cats. "But if he's going to even think of earning his warrior name he'd best learn how to find dry bedding, not the wet soggy moss that can give cats whitecough."[/color]

Reedkit looked at Blackbird. "You're doubting my skills!" He playfully hissed and hopped side to side. "I will be the most helpful kit under 6 moons ever! APPRENTICESHIP HERE I COME!" He went over to the medicine cat den.

Reedkit's pride lowered as Snowpaw hissed at him. He always thought she was fun! And now he couldn't even playfully hop side-to-side in front of an elder? Some Clan! He sniffed and walked into the medicine cat den, tail down on the floor. "Herbs?" He mewed halfheartedly.q
