Shellpaw breathed in the fresh air that was in the JungleClan territory. It felt good to be out in the open, hunting with a friend. She exaled, then looked back at Sablestripe, who was following behind her. This was just what she needed; a good hunt to get her back to normal.
Shellpaw snapped back to reallity when she heard a rusteling in the shrub behind her. Turning quickly, she saw a fat vole picking at the ground. 'Perfect.' she thought as she dropped into a hunting position. Green eyes gleamed as she crawled towards the creature that would hopfully be dead soon. Suddenly, it looked up and, upon seeing the apprentice comming towards it, ran off into the bushes.
'Oh no you don't!' she thought as she dove after it. Thorns raked her already scratched and cut body, causing her previous leg wound to reopen. She crawled back out, silently scolding herself. " Mousedung." Shellpaw mumbled as she looked at her now bleeding wound. She was so out of it, but she knew what was wrong. She just couldn't stop thinking about a certain someone.

Lunar walked silently through the dense forest, her eyes becoming accustom to the lessen amount of light. Her ears lay flat against her head as she paced ahead further, the sudden scuffling of a vole brought her to attention. "Got you!" She snapped as the vole came out of the bushes and was pounced onto with gray paws. "Yes!" She spoke joyfully as she snapped it's neck and froze. The smell of another cat flooded into her mouth through the vole, not to mention she could now hear the cat as well.

Shellpaw froze as she heard the squeak of a small animal. A vole maybe. Shellpaw darted throught the bushes, ignoring the pain, and dashed throught the other side. She found herself face to face with another cat. Shellpaw skidded backwards and hissed. "Who are you and why are you hunting on JungleClan territory?" she asked quickly, trying not to get dizzy from the smell of her injuries.

Lunar backed away respectively, leaving the vole infront of the she-cat before speaking. "I'm sorry, I didn't realize I had stumbled onto another's territory until now." She kept her head low to the ground, her nose lightly touching the floor.

Shellpaw looked at the cat infront of her. Then she sighed and shoved the vole towards her. " Take it. You look like you've had it rough." she said while trying to ignore the pain in her leg.

Lunar shook her head, eyes closed as her head stayed on the ground. "I don't and I don't deserve it either." Her words were steady, but remained somewhat quiet. She could see the pain she hid, something she had been always easily able to detect. "You're hurt." She breathed, her eyes looking directly at the wound.

Shellpaw glanced at her wound, wincing slightly. " Oh this? It's no big deal. " she lied. "Don't change the subject. You look like you need the food anyway. " she said sternly.

Lunar brought her head up slightly, her eyes inspecting the wound more closely even from that distance. "It's a big deal, and I can get food on my own time." She retorted as she felt her muscles tensing, every action in her body telling her to help the cat.

" It's just a scratch um...." the apprentice paused. " What's your name?" she asked, sliding the vole closer to the she-cat.

"It might not be best for us to exchange names." Lunar layed her ears back, several different meanings for her words. She looked at the vole and shook her head yet again.

" Right. Sorry..." she said then gasped as she collapsed onto the ground. 'Dang. If she hadn't been my sister she would be so dead for this!' she thought angrly. Why did she have to look stupid infront of others?

Lunar casually walked over and blinked once before allowing smirk to come across her face. "Are you sure your ok?" Her tone was playful with a sarcastic edge that cared.

Shellpaw growled as she struggled to her feet. " Yes. I'm fine. But why would you care about a stranger you just met?" she said, meeting the she-cat's sarcasim with her own.

The words struck deeper than probably intended, but Lunar's eyes iced over instantly. "I don't like to see others suffer, even at the extent of my own life. Is that reason enough?" She spoke sternly, pain apparent in her voice.
