Ghostpaw hiked through the undergrowth. His white-and-seal pelt was stuck through with sticks, thorns, and burrs, but by the time he got back to the familiar fences, he became enthusiastic about finding his family, and Phoenix's Twolegs. He turned, picking burrs out of his fur and awaiting the ginger she-cat.

Phoenixpaw clawed her way through the undergrowth, up the slope. Her pelt was even more untidy than Ghostpaw's. Breathing hard, she sat down and laborously ripped out a large mat of burrs. The sun was beginning to peer over the horizon. She squinted against the first bright rays and said, "Well, let's rest a bit and get our bearings."

The seal tom nodded, sitting down. Now that they were stopped, it was time for some more legitimate grooming. He groomed his pelt with his sandpapery tongue, rasping it along the white-and-tan fur until it was clean. Then Ghostpaw started to groom, Phoenixpaw's pelt, laughing at the burrs in her ginger fur.

"Hey!" Phoenixpaw batted him away. She shook her fur and stared down at the small town. "My Twolegs live down at the other end," she mewed. "We can look for your family as we go?"

Ghostpaw snorted, holding down laughter. He nodded. "Yes," And without another word, he trotted out from the small clearing just before the fence and hopped onto the wood, looking down into a Twoleg garden. No cats were present there, so he scaled several more fences, looking around for any sign of his family. Penbrook isn't that big, is it? His light-blue eyes locked onto one house and he stood stock-still. It was where he had lived, and as he stood on the fence in front of the house, nostalgia hit him painfully. The scents and the sights... it threatened to overwhelm him.

Phoenixpaw scrambled after him. She hopped up the fences and stared around. She didn't know this area of Penbrook very well. She opened her mouth when something caught her eye. "What's that?" She saw a flash of light fur around the corner of a house.

Ghostpaw shook his head to clear his mind. There was no use in standing around and remembering those days when they were long over and he led a happy life in a Clan. "It's a kittypet, I know it!" With that, he charged after it, running behind the building. Obviously the kittypet didn't know they would run so fast, because it was stopped, drinking from a puddle. The kittypet was a light gray, with long, silky fur. When she looked up, her eyes were bright green. "Who are you?" She mewed hesitantly. Ghostpaw stood still. GShe looked familiar. Ghost...paw," He replied, waiting for Phoenixpaw.

Saying nothing, Phoenixpaw sprang after him. She crouched beside, her orange eyes fixed on the kittypet. "I'm Phoenixpaw. Used to live in Penbrook."

The dainty kittypet shook her head a little. "I know I've seen you before," She said to Ghostpaw. "Both of you. Weren't you a show cat?" She glanced at Phoenixpaw with bright-green eyes. "Anyways, if you left Penbrook, why are you back?"Ghostpaw sighed. "We're trying to find out what happened to Phoenixpaw's Twolegs and what happened to my siblings. Any ideas?" He looked to the medicine cat apprentice helplessly.
((Wouldn't it be funny if Ghostpaw's brother was Rocky, the one that's helping Duskhaze and Shellpaw? HAHA xDD))

Phoenixpaw frowned defensively. "That's not important," she snapped. Relaxing, she added, "I just want to check on them, and Ghostpaw wants to find his family. Seen anyone who looks like him?"
(( That would be totally radical! xD
What if Phoenixpaw and Ghostie run into DA DEMON GANG?! *dun dun duuuuuuun* ))

((That's PERFECT! And Ghostpaw's sister is also in the gang, but their mom died. Oh that would be interesting. |3))
The longhaired she-cat sniffed reluctantly. She didn't seem the type to want to dirty her pelt. "I have, but I'm not sure if you want to know," She adressed this to Ghostpaw. To Phoenix she replied, "It's important if you want to find them. I haven't seen your Twolegs." She turned back to Ghostpaw, green eyes soft, but the blue-eyed tom was oblivious to this. "I'll come with you," She meowed after a momentary pause. "I have seen two cats that look like you. They're both in the Demon gang though." These words had a tone of careful avoidance of the subject. Ghostpaw's curiosity was piqued. "Who are the Demon Gang?" He inquired. The kittypet seemed to be reluctant to answer, but his bright blue eyes were on her, and she seemed to sit taller. "They're a gang of cats that go around recruiting more cats for their ferocious gang. They have pretty much claimed this territory. If I didn't have connections with the leader, Demon, I'd have been forced to join them long ago. They kill cats that refuse to join them." Her voice had grown somber for the last sentence, and a shiver ran down Ghostpaw's spine. He turned back to Phoenixpaw, and the longhaired kittypet's green eyes hinted at annoyance. "I wonder what we should do first," Ghostpaw wondered aloud to Phoenixpaw. The kittypet cleared her throat. "My name is Lilly, and I'll take you to the Demon Gang now," She said, a hint of annoyance in her voice, She turned and started to trot away. "Alright," Ghostpaw said, with a helpless shrug to Phoenixpaw.
((I'll start posting in The Demon Gang. :3))

(( KAY! x3 ))
Phoenixpaw's fur bristled in defiance. "Yeah, I've heard of those rats," she growled. "They used to hang around my home. They don't fight one on one. They just gang up on cats who oppose them." She followed Ghostpaw and Lilly, her long tail flicking angrily.
