Crestpaw knew all the basics, but didn't want to seem rude. She was fast and a great fighter. She knew this stuff already. " Hey, did you sent Jadestar?" she asked Skyheart. " I could have sworn she left earlyer. In fact, I'm sure of it."

Skyheart shook her head. "No, I didn't. I could have swore she left earlier too!"

Crestpaw looked around. " I see. " she meowed cooly. That was odd. Crestpaw turned around and jumped on a squirrl that had thought the cats were to busy to notice it. "Prey must not underestimate the enemy, nor can the predator doubt the prey." She buryed the squirrl in the ground, reminding herself to get the mouse later.

_{"Good reasoning, Crestpaw," Jadestar's soft voice spoke from a tree. Her green eyes were the only part of her visible in the shaded tree's gnarled branches. Twitching her tail, she sat comfortably in the branches of the thick tree.}

Without turning, Crestpaw spoke to Jadestar. " Thank you. I knew that you were here, Jadestar." She turned to the elegant leader, watching for her green eyes.

Skyheart shook her head. That was good reasoning. Why hadn't she thought of that? And where in StarClan did Jadestar come from? Skyheart purred towards them. "So, how's life, Jadestar?" She asked the leader of IslandClan. It was a stupid question, but she was trying to start conversation.

_{"I know you did, Crestpaw," Jadestar purred, chuckling. She slid easily down to the ground, taking liquid steps toward the two. "Good, and yours, Skyheart?" Jadestar replied.}

Crestpaw looked around. A faint wind blew as a single raindrop fell on her dark ear. Crestpaw liked the rain. On rainy days, she'd find a place and sit outside in the rain, watching the skys. She turned her head to Jadestar. Her movements reminded her of Light's gracefull movement. Not in a bad way, but as a reminder of having a mother, even if she didn't.

"Good, I guess." Skyheart mewed back to Jadestar. "So, would you like to help us with a little training? I know I'm not Crestpaw's official mentor, but I figured I would stand in for her mentor." She mewed, not realizing what she was saying.

_{Jadestar nodded, sitting and curling her tail around herself. "It seems that, at present, Crestpaw does not have a mentor. So, it seems an opportune time for you to mention that. You may be her mentor, at least until we figure the whole mentor-apprentice situation out."}

Crestpaw blincked slowly, taking in the information. " Very well, Jadestar. " she said in her calm voice. Crestpaw fought to keep in a sigh. She just wasen't good with other cats. This was going to take some getting used to.

[Lunar]

Blackwish drapped over a branch as he watched their converstion with a friendly smirk. With his dark form blending into the tree and no wind change, he remained perfectly hidden. A limp mouth hung in his mouth, he hadn't bothered to bury it when he had heard the other cats' voices. Its smell began to make his mouth water, realizing that he hadn't eaten for two days now, but he didn't let his hunger get the best of him.

Crestpaw felt another breeze, then sighed. " Blackwish, you can stop hiding." she meowed calmly. She looked towards where the wind had come from, then spotted two eyes. She almost smiled, but held it in.

[Lunar]

Blackwish smiled with a playful roll of his eyes as he scaled down the tall tree. "You couldn't have let me hid just for a little bit longer?" He chuckled as he walked over to he apprentice with a flick of his black tail.

Crestpaw once again had to keep herself from smiling. " Sorry, but I knew you were evsedropping. " she flicked him with her tail. " That is quite rude. " she meowed playfully.
