Blackpaw raised his head up slowly as he heard Ringtail's and Jadestar's voices above him, his eyes half opened as he looked over to Ringtail. "I tried to get her there, before she gave in." He coughed as he began to try and stand up unsteadily on his legs. "I tried, I tried." He breathed as tears began to well up in his eyes again.

[Sable]

((Well I can't kill Ringtail! He's the Warriors version of my kitty Shao! *snuggle* ))

Ringtail sat down next to Blackpaw. "I guess she did know," he murmured. He looked at Blackpaw and smiled sadly. "It was your final assessment. You surpassed her.

[Honorable Riri]

Skyheart caught up to them. "Hey, Blackpaw and Ringtail? Can I join you?" SHe asked, out of breath from running so fast. She ran so fast, her sides were heaving. It wasn't because she wasn't fit, it was because of the sprint to get there.

[Sable]

Ringtail looked at Skyheart sadly. "We were just about to head back," he said quietly, all of the cheerful timbre gone from his voice. "As soon as Jadestar returns, I guess." He looked out to Big Claw Island.

[Honorable Riri]

"Oh." Skyheart smiled weakly. "That's okay then. Thanks." She headed back to camp, a little less spring in her step. She had really wanted to patrol, for the first time since being made a warrior. She sighed, knowing she was just too late to patrol at this time. She smiled at them once more and padded back to camp.

_{Jadestar stood, watching Blackpatch with melancholy sorrow in her lively green eyes. She glanced at the medicine cat. "It is time to bring her back to the camp so that we may have a vigil." Grasping the deceased by the scruff, she pulled her towards the ocean. The light green waves tossed gently, seeming also to be sad, and she was not swept off her paws as she entered it. Swimming with the weight of Blackpatch was not as difficult as she had expected, especially because the tide was going out on Big Claw Island. It was not easy to bring Blackpatch back to the main island, but Jadestar completed the task without terrible difficulty. Pulling the jet-pelted she-cat onto the shore very near Ringtail and the others, she shook her pelt and sat on the sand. "The loss of a warrior is always cause for grief," She said sadly.}

[Sable]

Ringtail nodded in agreement, his ears drooping as he crouched and buried his nose in Blackpatch's soaking wet fur. He could feel that the heat was almost gone from her body already. After a long moment he rose. "I guess we should take her back to camp now," he said in a choked voice, trying to swallow the lump that was rising in his throat.

[Lunar]

Blackpaw sat up erectly, the tears gone from his eyes, but sorrow still held within them. "If I may Jadestar, may I carry Blackpatch back to camp?" He asked his leader his voice strong and steady as his yellow eyes looked over Blackpatch's limp body.

[Sable]

"Of course you can!" Ringtail answered immediately, not waiting for Jadestar to speak. "Come on, we should go. The sun will set soon," he said in a quieter voice.

_{Jadestar blinked back the sadness. This was all part of being a leader; to deal with losses and help the Clan deal with them as well. Her duties as what she was took charge. She glanced fondly but slightly irritatedly at Ringtail as he replied for her. "Yes, you may." Heading the way, she led the small group to camp.}

[Lunar]

"Thank you Jadestar." Blackpaw nodded thankfully at his leader as he nudged himself under Blackpatch's body, til she was laying evenly on his back. Though her body rested somewhat heavily on his back, it felt like a weight had been lifted, and he smiled at the thought of her being in StarClan with their anscetors. He followed with light pawsteps as he followed behind Jadestar, his black tail flowing back and forth steadily.

Skyheart came out into the wonderful, open forest. She breathed in the sentimental air of prey and purred. Today, she thought, would be a good day for some hunting. She went off towards a tree where she spotted a plump vole. It ran as fast as it could muster away from her, but it's fastest was not enough. She caught it and burried it in earth, hoping to find many more catches like this one.

Crestpaw dashed along the territory, following Skyheart's sent. The apprentice's cold eyes scaned the area, looking for the she-cat's pelt. She looked up, thinking she sented Jadestar. She had left earlyer, hadn't she?

Continuing on, she spotted a mouse scurring along the roots of a small tree. Crestpaw crouched down, crawling along the ground. She pounced, claws in, landing her fore paw on the creature, killing it imeditly. She buryed it in the dirt, and continued on her search for Skyheart.

Skyheart picked up the scent of Balckwish and Crestpaw. She turned to see a little shadow in the side of a tree. "Crestpaw!" She mewed. She knew she smelled her. "Ready to train? Awesome!" She purred. "First, go down all the way on your stomach. Keep your tail a little bit off the ground, so it isn't touching the ground. Then, stalk...and attack!" She attacked a leaf an example. "Ta-da!" She purred
