A Day in IslandClan

[Lunar]

"I hope you're right. "Blackpaw sighed as he listened to her story, allowing it to weave gently around him. "He named her....what?" He was interested in her story, and hoped his rudeness and how strnge he had been acting didn't affect how she told her story.

Crestpaw sighed and continued. " He named her... Crestpaw. Me." She paused to think and recolect. " Would you like me to tell the rest? I will continue if you wish."

[Lunar]

"Please, and I'm sorry if I break down, but...today's just been a long day." Blackpaw apolegized as he gave Crestpaw a friendly smile. "I promise I won't tell anyone about this."

Crestpaw smiled, something she rarely did, at Blackpaw. " It's ok.
Anyway, yes that was me and my sister. Starswirl was very happy. He was so in love with Light. So happy." The blue eyed cat's eyes turned grey with anger, the emotion she showed, if any, the most often. " She was a traitor. She said she wanted to raise her kits in the Islandclan with Starswirl. The two where on Islandclan territory, so tecinaly I'm an Islandclan cat. But Light still wanted to raise us in a better inviorment. But it was all lies!" Crestpaw stopped to collect herself.

" My father rushed to the camp to tell everyone the news. They were, at first, weary about letting a rouge join, but since it was my father, they were understanding. They let me, Leppord, and Light join. All seemed to be right. But it was all empty promises and dreams."

"Two moons later, Light took me, my sister, and Starswirl out of the territory for a supprise. She said something big was waiting for us. She was right. A whole pack of rouges was there, waiting. She orderd them to attack; to kill us all. She was a traitor!! She never loved my father. Starswirl told me and my sister to run. We hid in a bush, watching our father kill Light, then killed himself by the rouges. Me and Leppordkit got seperated when we tried to get back to camp. I made it back. She didn't."

Crestpaw felt tears flow down her cheeks as she tried to shake them off. She did, but some kept falling. "It was all planed. I do know how it feels, Blackpaw. It hurts. But after a while, you just have to let it go."

[Lunar]

"Crestpaw...I'm so sorry, I didn't know." Blackpaw could feel tears well up in his eyes as he gently placed his tail on Crestpaw's shoulder. "I just wonder how Light felt about doing all of that, killing your kits off like prey, that's one of the worst things a cat can ever do, Clanborn or not." He let the tears run down his face, the mourning for others and for himself made his spirit light and he smiled softly, as if he felt another presence by him telling him to go on as well.

" It's all right. I guess that's why I don't know how to let others in. I'm just...... afraid that I'll be like my father; so infaturated in love that I can't see the evil. That's why I have no friends. I'm afraid of being hurt." Crestpaw sighed. She brushed her tail over Blackpaw's back, letting him know that she thanked his compasion.

[Lunar]

"Don't be afraid to live life, or trust me, it will most definately pass you by." Blackpaw smiled down at her, sticking the tip of his pink tongue down at her playfully. He batted his paw gently against her side, offering a chance to play before he grew up again.

Crestpaw smiled and returned the bat, trying to forget all bad things that had happened that day. Life seemed to be looking up. " Oh, yeah. You're going to be a warrior. Maybe you'll get to be a mentor."

[Sable]

"You'll be a warrior in a couple moons yourself, Crestpaw." Ringtail padded over to them, a couple of mice gripped in his mouth, dangling by their tails. "Here." He tossed them down, then swiped his tongue around his jaws and sat, wrapping his striped tail around his white paws.

<sub>Jadestar left the group to ponder in her den for a little while. She knew it had been Blackpaw's assessment, and she also knew he had passed, because StarClan whispered it in her ears. As a leader, the only one in the Clan closer to the starry cats was the medicine cat. Pondering at what his warrior name should be, it came to her.

Trotting out of the den, she leapt up to the Highrock. It was finally time. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather at the Highrock," She called out. Jadestar didn't expect to wait that long for the cats to collect, because there were so few. A pang of sadness entered her heart.</sub>

[arina]

Crestpaw looked over towards Highrock. "Told you Blackpaw. See, everything will work out. " She nudged him playfully, then took off. " Race ya'!!"she shouted. She was in a good mood. Might as well not spoil it, right?

[Lunar]

"You're on!" Blackpaw snatched up one of the mice and raced after Crestpaw, catching up to her in a couple of pawsteps as he stop before Highrock. He skidded a bit as he stopped, stirring up some dust into the air as planted himself to the ground.

Crestpaw came slightly after Blackpaw, skidding to a halt next to him. " Just out of curiosity, what do you want your warrior name to be?" the white apprentice asked.

[Lunar]

Blackpaw raised an eyebrow at the apprentice's question and he pondered on it a bit himself. "I have an idea for it, but it's Jadestar's decision. Yet in a strange way, I think she might already know what name I've chosen." He tried to explain even though he knew he was doing a pretty poor job at doing so.

"Well I hope you get the name you want. " Crestpaw looked around at the lesser number of cats in the camp. So few cats... we desperatly need more. Starclan help us!
