Skyheart came back, tail drooping on the ground. She sighed and looked around, nocat to talk to. She went back to the warrior's den and sat down, trying to fall asleep.

Crestpaw sighed softly and hopped onto a near by rock. She gazed up at the sky, clouds floating by. What a nice day... it's almost to quiet. Crestpaw could have easly gone to the warrior's den and talked to Skyheart, but the white apprentice seldom talked to the others. Most cats avoided her anyway. She looked around at the small number of cats laing lazly around camp. The dark eyed cat sighed again and continued stairing into nothingness.

Skyheart noticed Crestpaw. Finally, another cat to talk to. She went up to her and purred. "Hey, are you bored too? Well, then we're just two bored cats, like two peas in a pod." You could tell she visited the farms alot.

Crestpaw glanced at Skyheart quickly then went back to looking at the clouds. "Not quite bored. Just thinking." she repiled quietly. "Why? You bored?"

"Yes, very much. Who's your mentor?" Skyheart asked Crestpaw. She didn't know many cats, even though she was a Clanborn cat, an IslandClan cat through and through.

One-ear grinned as she stared out the elders den, her long body stretched out into a comfortable position. She yawned and stretched out, rolling around in the near empty den. She missed having other elders in here, especially since she was all alone. She flicked her brown ear as she heard the apprentice and young warrior begin to talk, half wondering if she should pester them to go do something.

Crestpaw sighed. " I don't have one." she meowed. "Islandclan is short on cats, so I'm alone."

One-ear walked out of the den, the conversation getting somewhat interesting to the old she-cat. "Just because you don't have a mentor, doesn't mean you can't do any training. When I was your age, all of apprentices learned at least one thing from someone who wasn't their own mentor." She told Crestpaw with a stretch and a flick of her tail.

"I know that. " Crestpaw said calmly. " But we have specific insturctions to say her and gaurd the camp. As soon as I can leave, I'm going out for training." Where did these two come from?? I thought everyone was sleeping.

"With a warrior I hope." One-ear reminded the apprentice as she suddenly gave a quick frontal blow to the apprentice, claws sheathed. She had put enough power behind the attack to knock the apprentice down, but not enough to really hurt her.

Crestpaw, unfazed by the blow, stared at the elder. " If one is avadible, yes." She turned her head to Skyheart. "If you're not busy, you might want to come." Crestpaw flicked her ears, hearing something in the distance. The apprentice jumped off the rock, rushing over to the camp's entrance. She halted infront of it, listening closly. Something's not right.

Skyheart's ears perked. "I'm available, and I'm a warrior. Perfect! I can learn from you, you can learn from me. Whenever you need me. We can probably even ask our leader if I cna be your mentor!"

Crestpaw almost fell foreward. She wants to be my mentor??? Crestpaw was always alone; always had been. Someone wanted to be around her? No one in the clan wanted to be around her, and she had no friends. Now someone wanted to be around her?? She turned to see Skyheart sitting happily on the rock smiling at her. This was very new to the apprentice. But maybe she could make this work.
" Ok. I'll ask Jadestar when she gets back," Crestpaw turned back to the entrance, waiting to see what was going on.

Trotting forlornly in the foliage, Jadestar felt a little airy but sad. The stormclouds that had rolled overhead on the beach and seemed to disappear returned, cruelly bleak and dark. The mood dampener did nothing good for Jadestar, who entered the camp a little more slowly, giving Blackpaw and Ringpaw time to catch up again. Crossing the threshold of IslandClan's main camp, she looked around to see Crestpaw, One-ear, and Skyheart. "There is some unfortunate news," She meowed quietly.

Crestpaw watched as Jadestar walked slowly by, followed by others who had been on the patrol. Blackpaw was last, carrying Blackpatch. A wave of greif flowed over the camp. Crestpaw showed no signs of sadness exept in her eyes. "Is she..." The white apprentice could have finished, but wanted to cause no further damage.
She knew what it was like. Dreams of her father's death played in her head every night. She could have sworn that Blackpatch looked like Starswirl, her father, for a moment. The apprentice shook her head, then proceded to follow Jadestar through the camp.
