Wandering aimlessly was not one of Gingerpaw's hobbies. She much preferred playing with the other apprentices or training, but today for some obscure reason, her body willed her to take a walk. Perhaps her mother wanted to speak with her. Yes that was probably it. So, whom would start the conversation today? Her mother or she? Ah it didn't matter. No one was around to call her crazy, or off her rocker.
"So mother? How've you been? I pray to Starclan everyday." Gingerpaw grinned as if the wind blowing through the trees was some sort of response. "Yes, I've been taking care of myself. I learned how to catch birds the other day! Did I mention that yesterday?" Although there was no voice around that could have substituted for an answer, Gingerpaw continued babbling. "Oh I did? Well sorry to bore you mother. Has father joined you yet?" Another silence was followed after her words, but that didn't seem to phase the apprentice. "Still alive? Good. I plan to meet him once I become a warrior." Finally the cat's face grew solemn and cold.
"Ah, mother. You really should say goodbye when you leave. Who knows, I could have been talking to myself for hours on end!" The apprentice joked, following by a booming laugh of her own.
...
How ironic.
