Hawkstar had ran the whole way back to camp, he didn't even turn his head to see if any of his cats where running as fast as he was. The only thing on his mind was to get back to camp to see if any of the kits where gone. Hawkstar ran inside the nursery, no one was there.
He then ran around the camp, looking for them. "Willowflower!" He called several times, hoping she knew where the kits where. [/size] |

Sablestripe bounded into the camp, just a few paces behind Hawkstar; her long legs had carried her swifter than most of the others. "Wait!" she said to Hawkstar. "Willowflower and her kits went to the stream earlier today. What if. . . " she trailed off, the thought to awful to say.

Dawnleaf came rushing in right by Hawkstar and followed him to the den. She noticed that nothing as amiss in the nest. It was when she heard Sablestripe's remark she turned her head with her eyes ablaze. "How long ago?" she asked sternly. [/size] |

Duskpaw, breathless from the flight to the jungle, stared apprehensively at the kits' den, ears forward, and fully alert. "They... they did?" He mumbled when Sablestripe said Willowflower had gone to the stream. Then they wouldn't be in the kits' den. He sunk his claws into the ground not only would they not know, if they did know they might not get there in time. He glanced sideways at Sandstone. "We're not normally like this. It's just... kits being stolen is a grave matter."

Sablestripe faltered somewhat under Dawnleaf's harsh stare. "I. . I'm not quite sure. Sometime around late afternoon, I think."

"...Sandstone, are you alright?" Duskpaw couldn't see any sign that she'd been hurt, but she didn't seem well. "D-Dawnleaf!" He cried hoarsely. He didn't really know what was wrong but in all the sorrow, now this?

Dawnleaf heard the cry and rushed to Sandstone's side. She licked the she-cat to help calm her. "Duskpaw, run to my den and get me a few chamomile leaves. We need to calm her down," she said to him. "Shh... Do not worry Sandstone. The rouges are gone by now, you are safe here with us," she said in a gentle tone. "We are doing what we can right now." |

Duskpaw nodded and dashed to the den. He searched optically for a few moments before he spotted his quarry, and picked up two of the broad leaves. He ran back to Leafsong and dropped the leaves gently on the ground. He gave Sandstone's ear a couple of comforting licks. "It'll be alright," He said softly.

((Sorry I havent posted, I kinda forgot, that and I got a new game a few days ago. xD))
"Talonclaw, Sablestripe. I want you to follow the stream and try to find them. I also want you to look for any signs of strangers." Hawkstar then heard Duskpaw shout to Dawnleaf, and noticed that the loner had followed. He walked up to them.
"I don't remember you asking me if she could stay." He glanced more at Duskpaw, since he seemed to be more concerned about her than about the kits. "If you were wondering I would have said no, since we have to much to worry about now and adding a queen to the list is too much." He looked at Sandstone, and sighed. The last time his clan helped a loner, it ended up in a mess. "But I guess that can't be helped now. Duskpaw, go with Sablestripe and Talonclaw. Dawnleaf can handle this herself." He flicked his tail for him to leave and gave him a cool stare.
Hawkstar then glanced up at Dawnleaf. "I would have thought you'd ask me too Dawnleaf. And I think I remember Whitefire was the only one to ask permission about offering her a place to stay." He sighed again, his head jumbled with worry and many other things. His head hurt. [/size] |

Sablestripe leapt up, eyes blazing. "What are we waiting for? Let's go!" She began to run toward the entrance, then paused and looked sheepishly over her shoulder at Talonclaw. "Er. . Maybe you should lead, huh?" She stepped back to let the deputy pass.

"We could use the kits if she stays. You know that we need more warriors, this leaf-bare is hard and with the stealing of the kits..." Dawnleaf started. She took the leaves and gave them to Sandstone to eat so she could calm down. "I know I went against your say, but I cannot stand by and see another cat in trouble Hawkstar. I understand that I still have a lot to learn, but I cannot change what I feel inside. Who knows, maybe StarClan wanted her to be with us," she finished looking up at her leader with a guilty but serious stare. [/center] |

Sablestripe followed close behind Talonclaw, her ears pricked. She couldn't help thinking that the search would be useless, but chose to say nothing.

Duskpaw glanced at Sandstone again before trotting off after the patrol. He wondered why the leader was so angry at him, but he knew perfectly well in his heart; he had put one more worry on his mind. As the apprentice left camp, he heard Dawnleaf, and glanced back at her with extremely grateful eyes. Trotting after Sablestripe, he wondered what they'd find out about the missing kits.
