No one ever told her that she was a valuble asset to the clan. But then again, no one ever had to. She knew that, her being one of the toughest warriors, she was crucial to the clan's survival. They needed tough, dependable, and loyal warriors. Lately, there seemed to be too many apprentices around. Not as though that was a bad thing. It was very good, it meant the future would be bright. But the current time was the most important. Perhaps the she-cat had been dwelling in her own thoughts for too long. It was starting to make her depressed. Having known better than to stay in the Warrior's den and brood, she had decided to go hunt. It had been a fruitful expedition; three birds and a small fish as the reward.
Why, just now, she was strolling back into camp with her kill. Two birds riding awkwardly on her back, the fish and third avian in her jaws. She paused, before a large rock. Feeling proud of herself for the big catch, she allowed a moment to bask in glory. But that moment passed, and she descended into the dark hole beneath the lip of the rock. Here she deposited her prize onto the fresh kill pile, taking the small fish out of the hole with her. She wasn't very hungry, and the fish wasn't even as big as a mouse, which is why she had chosen it. Let the others who needed it, have the birds. They were larger, one of them rivaling the size of SphinxOrb herself.
Shaking her pelt, the warrior padded to a comfortably shady spot beside a rock, watching over the main way into the camp. There, she settled down on the cool ground and proceeded to eat her fish. For awhile she managed to occupy her mind with only the fish. But the meat from the bones was gone before long, and her mind began to wander again. Rising into a sitting position, the she-cat began to groom her chest. Her crimson-tainted orbs scanned the area methodically, searching for any unwelcome guests.

One-ear walked up to Sphinxorb and sat beside the she-cat. No matter how old she became One-ear constantly liked to walk around and talk to another cat once in awhile. "How are you Sphinxorb?" she asked as she looked out into the distance. A faint breeze went through and blew the she-cat's fur softly. The dead leaves blowed slowly into the wind and one got stuck in One-ear's fur. She grabbed it and let it flutter from her mouth.

Able to get away from her mother and brothers, Mablekit exited the nursery. They all had been resting, and Marblekit had woken up early, eager to continue the day. Dawnstorm said she could go and play, so long as she was in eyeshot. She watched as a leave flew off One-ear and Marblekit chased after it. Batting it with her tiny paws. Once it was out of reach, the kit padded over to the elder and SphinxOrb. "Hi One-ear! Hi SphinxOrb!" Marblekit shouted happilyto them, and her tail wagged with content. Her blue-grey eyes full of excitement. SphinxOrb amazed her, nut then again all warriors did. She couldn't wait to become one.

Marblekit bounced around as she heard Nightkit. "Sure, Nightkit!" She crouched down, her tail moving back and forth. Then she pounced on her brother and batted at his ear with her paw, giggling the whole time.

Well hello One-ear, I'm just fine
The warrior greeted her elder warmly, purring slightly. The elders had always incited respect within the she-cat. The way they had been around longer than most, and knew almost everything there was to know. She fondly remembered long nights spent in the Elders den, just listening to their infinite wisdom. That seemed to be the only place she spent her kit-hood, seeing as her parents tragically were killed in an ambush. She even remembered when she had first become an apprentice. The first night she had been too afraid to stay in the apprentices' den, and had snuck quietly to the elders' den and curled up beside One-ear. The elder was just as a mother in SphinxOrb's eyes.
The warrior put her legs out before her, stretching. In that same instant, Marblekit came bounding up, after batting at a flying leaf. SphinxOrb gazed fondly on the kit, a happy smile across her muzzle. That kit was so full of adventure, she'd make a great warrior someday. Secretly, the she-cat hoped that Marblekit would be her apprentice. But such things were beyond her control. Relaxing her shoulders and resuming her sitting position, the Egyptian Mau watched as Nightkit came up and asked to play. As the two kits began to tussle, SphinxOrb curled her tail around her paws. Closing her eyes slightly, she basked in the coolness of the shadows. This was all she had ever wanted; an elder to teach her the ways of life, and kits to teach her to play. Suddenly remembering something, SphinxOrb opened one eye, looking at One-ear.
There are three birds in the fresh-kill hole.
She made her voice audible to not only One-ear, but the kits as well. It was just polite.

Fogkit had just got out of the nursery as well as he came upon his siblings playing. He had never liked it when they play fight, but as long as they don't fight with him he didn't mind it. He sat a little bit always from the fight, sitting with his tail around his paws.

"Thank you SphinxOrb, but I can't eat with the thought of the cats on Big Claw Island right now. I saw the appretices go hunting, but they need to be trained more properly. I know that they aren't prepared for what awaits them." she looked out into the distance as she said these words. She looked at the kits who tustled together. Then she looked to Fogkit who stayed out of it and just watched. 'For one there isn't a kit who wants to fight.' she thought as she looked softly at the young kit. "How are you Fogkit?" she asked the little cat interest. She layed down, but kept her eyes locked on him. She flicked her tail back and forth with breeze and smiled.

Fogkit jumped up a bit from the voice from surprise and looked at One-ear. "Fi... Fine," he manage to get out. His eyes where wide at first, but he soon calmed down. "Sorry, you took me by surprise," he said.

"It's ok. I should be the one whose sorry, I scared you." she said placing a paw ont the small kit's forehead. "Why are you so jumpy anyways?" she asked placing her paw back down. She turned around for a moment to crack a flea on her back, then turned back to Fogkit.

Fogkit gave her a gentle look and turned his head towards the sky. "I guess it is cause my brother and sister likes sneaking up on me and jumping on me. I don't like to fight much," he replied.
