The Gathering

Taintedstar looked around a hint of impatience hinted in her scanning gaze. "Shall I start?" She questioned hastily. She seemed eager to be done and over with this gathering and no one else was jumping up to initiate anything.

Talonclaw waited patiently for the leaders to speak.He looked around,trying to find someone to talk to.

[Kato.Dragon]

Nodding to Taintedstar, Hawkstar agreed to let her speak first. "Go ahead Taintedstar." He curled his tail around his front feet and waited for his turn, not like he knew what he was going to say once it got to his turn.

Whitefire felt Sandstone uneasyness and wanted to do more than what she was doing now. "I know you feel threatened Sandstone, but you don't have to worry. Starclan has made a truce here, and no one would hurt a queen."

Scarface didn't plan on speaking with anyone here, but he felt he should at least speak with one other cat. Seeing Talonclaw by himself, Scarface walked over to him. "Hello Talonclaw."

Snowpaw looked at the cat beside him. He never saw any other Clan cats. "Hello," he said. "I'm Snowpaw!"

Dawnleaf's ears twitched as she heard the apprentice and looked down at him. Her eyes filled with a gentle kindness. "So you are one of the new MountainClan apprentices. I'm Dawnleaf, JungleClan's medicine cat."

Snowpaw looked at Dawnleaf with a bright glaze. Though he saw her eyes were hidden with a slight sadness in them as if she was worried about something. "They are beginning the meeting now at least," he said, trying to cheer her up.

"Yes they are," she replied.

_{Glancing gratefully at Whitefire for saying the words he couldn't think of, he turned back to Sandstone. "I... I'm sure nobody'd leave you to kit on your own, without a medicine cat, would they?" He stared up at the Highrock as the leaders began to speak.}

Taintedstar scanned the groups of Clan cats and gave a final yowl to let everyone know the gathering was officially starting. The calico she-cat sat straight, bright eyes briefly flickering from one cat to another as she spoke.

"OceanClan is flourishing. With the snows slowly faltering, we are growing more means to gather food for ourselves, as expected." She began calmly in an almost nonchalant tone. "Silverstripe, our Deputy who was recruited not long ago, is proving to be a worthy Deputy despite her young age. We have some newly appointed apprentices who are promising to be exceptional Warriors in due time. There have been no recent deaths or births to speak of. All is well within our Clan."

Taintedstar humbly nodded her head to show she was finished. She chose not to go into detail and kept her information to the basics. Of course, nothing about Big Claw Island was mentioned... that didn't belong to OceanClan, so why would the leader speak of it anyway?


Tigereye watched silently, no expression on his dark face. He took in everything Taintedstar said and gave Jadestar a brief glance. The Deputy was not foolish; he could tell from the sound of the she-cat's voice that she was obviously hiding something, and that she was eager to bring her Clan back to the territory after all Clans had spoken. The OceanClan leader hid her deep intentions well, but Tigereye was no ordinary cat and was able to read her tone and expressions easy enough.


Brighteyes didn't like how carefree and to-the-point the OceanClan leader spoke. It bothered her, as if the calico she-cat was hiding something... but Brighteyes hadn't a clue what there was to hide. She didn't know anything about OceanClan; or at least, not in detail. She pondered if something was up in OceanClan or if she was just misinterpreting Taintedstar's words and expression.

One-ear ran into the gathering panting looking to see if she could find Jadestar. She spotted Tigereye and ran towards the the deputy slightly gasping. "Tigereye...some cat...took...Fogkit." her eyes pleaded as she looked up at the deputy for some sort of hope. "Midnight ran after him, I don't know where he went either." she said regaining her breath slowly.

Dawnleaf was listening to the OceanClan leader when a she-cat ran into the clearing, disrupting the Gathering. Fear rosed up in her as she heard the words from the cat. "It is what StarClan warned us about," her voice cried. "Our Clans are in danger!" She got to her paws quick, but she could not leave till Hawkstar says so. She now knew that this was what StarClan was warning them about.

Snowpaw felt frighten at the fact that a kit was taken from another Clan. He knew that his Clan would be in danger as well. How did they know to attack tonight? It was a question he bet many were asking themselves. This was a planned attack, and from someone who knew the Clans well.

_{Duskpaw's eyes widened as the elder sped into the clearing, and when he heard about the kit, he yowled in defiance. "A kit! What kind of low creature would steal a kit!" He thrashed his tail angrily. Who would do something so heinous?!}

[Sable]

Sablestripe leapt to her feet, pelt bristling. "What about JungleClan?!" she yowled. "What if our kits are in danger, too? What if all kits are in danger?"

[Bluestar]

Talonclaw saw Scarface,and greeted him too.


When Leafsong heard what One-Ear said,she was worried.She thought about the visit from Coonstar,then quickly rushed to Dawnleaf,and asked "Did you receive a sign from StarClan?"

Tigereye instantly rose to all four paws. A slight snarl formed on his face. "A stolen kit!? This is an emergency..." The Deputy looked to Jadestar, "We must leave immediately. The Gathering is important, but more important than a life of a stolen kit?" He narrowed his eyes. If Jadestar chose to not leave right away Tigereye would be surprised. His tail twitched with impatience; he was ready to dash off and find out what was going on.


Taintedstar blinked with confusion. "A stolen kit? That is just sick." A scowl formed on her face. Upon hearing the comment from another Clan cat about the possibility of other Clan kits being in danger, she shook her head, "There is no way to determine there is any danger for other Clan kits just because one from IslandClan was stolen." She swept her gaze over Tigereye and Jadestar without really looking at them, "Perhaps someone from in the Clan just has a grudge on someone else in the Clan and just took the kit to attempt to..."


Brighteyes cut off Taintedstar with a surprisingly, harsh narrowed gaze, "This is no time to make subtle, negative comments Taintedstar." Brighteyes said in an almost scary but calm tone. The Medicine cat rose to all fours, "The fact that someone has stolen a kit from another Clan is very important and is surely a bad omen. I honestly feel that the gathering should end so we can make sure other kits have not been taken..." Brighteyes trailed off, the harsh look on her face vanishing to a worried one. She had had strange dreams as of late and she feared for the worst. "Obviously, something bad is going on, and I fear the trouble is not coming from any of our four Clan's, considering the majority of us are here at this gathering right this second..."

Whitefire understood why Sandstone didn't now what a queen was, not all knew. "We call a she-cat expecting or have kits a Queen." Her mood changed greatly when One-ear, and her stomach felt it was in knots. She didn't know that her dream with StarClan ment this, they hardly ever gave enough information. "I agree with Brighteyes, I have a feeling that the kit from Islandclan isn't the only one, as horrible as it sounds."

Hawkstar stared at One-ear, surprised at her words. "This is urgent, we must leave the gathering and go back to camp right away. StarClan will forgive us if we don't finish this gathering." He jumped down from the rock and twitched his tail for his clan to gather so they could leave.

Rainstar agreed with Hawkstar, but hoped that none of the kits in Mountainclan were stolen. "No Taintedstar, I don't believe any of our clans would steal from each other." She gave the leader a cold stare for ever thinking that.

"Beware cats that are not of your own," Dawnleaf said quoting Wildstar. "Yes they had warned me about what is to come and I fear that this isn't over yet. Goodbye Leafsong." She rushed over to Hawkstar so they may leave quickly.

Snowpaw rushed over to his leader as well. There was a urgency in all of the cats now.

Dawnleaf saw the confused she-cat and felt sorry for her. She would be close to kitting, and it would help if she didn't have to go far. She turned away and padded up to Sandstone. "Come with us, you shouldn't be walking much anyway," Dawnleaf said in a gentle tone. If Sandstone joined the Clan it would mean more kits to train into warriors and they would need them soon enough. The dark clouds in her mind was already flooding out the moonlight.
